The under 18's this year are putting out three teams in total,Two in the Kent League and One in the Bexley A league. The Bexley league side had a friendly today against a B league side Welling won 9-0, excellent display by this newly formed team,Well done boys.

It was then the turn of the Kent League side to play Eltham Town Reserves ( Adult Side ) Welling quickly went two nil down through two set pieces. The Welling boys battled on and by the final whistle it was a win for Welling 4-3. The boys played well and came together as a team for the first real challenge.

Heres to a great season for both teams .biggrinbiggrin

The under 18's Kent League Central didnt have a game and as far as I know the Bexley side lost 1 - 0 which was completely against the flow of the game, Welling had most of the play but just couldnt finish it off.
The Kent League North side played Dartford and won 5 - 2 the first half was all one way with Welling in charge and playing some nice football. The second half straight from kick off Welling seemed to go to sleep and for about twenty minutes Dartford were back in the game with the chance of pulling it back to a draw. The coach made a few subs and after a couple of minutes Welling were back in it.There was some nice football played,it was a good game to watch.
It just a shame about the pitch, I think the boys could play even better football with a good pitch to play on.
Both the Kent League sides are mid table, unfortunately the Bexley side is closer to the bottom, I am sure that will change.
Well done boys, you are doing Welling proud.biggrinbiggrin

The Kent League sides had a weekend off this week, so I went to watch the Bexley A Side play top of the League, Teviot Rangers. I arrived just before half time and the score was 2-1 to Welling. Both sides were playing some nice football, and to be honest the Ref had very little to do, other than give an occasional offside decision.Bothsides were there to play football and thats how the game went. The final score was 5-3 to Welling an excellent result considering the positions of both teams in the league.
Well done boys, hopefully this result will spur you on to greater things.
Also well done to the Two Gary's and Dan for the coaching.
We wont mention a certain person who cheered and ran up the line near the end of the match when she thought the final whistle had gone, it was a freekick that the Ref had blown up for. All I will say is that she is married to one of the coaches, I think that might give it away !!!.

Todays game against the top of the Cray Wanderers was a true test of how far the boys have come, Cray hadnt lost a game and had only had two goals scored against them.Cray went one nil up and this again caused our boys to respond and brought it back to one all and then two , one to Welling. The game was a very hard fought affair and and Cray pulled it back to two-two.Then Welling moved up a gear and started to control the game, the final score was 5 - 2 to Welling. A couple of regulars had injuries today so it just goes to show the depth of the squad to pull off such a result.
Well done boys the last two games you have started to play as a real team, with a great team spirit.
Asusual well done to the two Gary's.

Another good result by the Kent League North side 2-0 win against Cray Valley away. The team is slowly progressing up the league and are currently third. I cant really comment on yesterdays match as I was unable to attend, so if anyone reading this was there maybe they could post a comment.

Most probably the coldest day of the year, but all the boys turned up to show the great commitment that they have.
its good to see prople want to play for the club.
the game began you could see that Welling where going to dominate throughout with chances coming thick and fast, with near misses coming from Francis, Mark and Luka. as the game continued and without a breakthrough cray valley ended up having a few decent chances but they could neither take them. it changed early in the second half when Welling took advantage from poor defending off a corner and francis taped in, and it was rounded off when Mark scored the second with a shot from outside the box that flew into the top corner.
a good effort from all the boys keep it upsmile

A very cold day, which seemed to effect the boys from the Kent League North. I had to work so I got the report via a mobile today. When I phoned the boys were losing 4-2 and they were not playing that well. so I was informed. As usual the boys seem to respond to being behind and pulled the final score back to 4-4 in the end, and could have won it if a header had found its target. The boys are now second in the league with the same points as the top team. Next week 14th they are travelling away to Herne Bay,southern League, in a cup game.

Has Andy or Jimmy been to see the lads play or train? Or the Reserves management? Have any trained alongside the first team or reserves?

I dont want to get involved in all the politics, involving Corinthians etc, but no one as far as I know has been to see the boys as yet.no
I think there are a few of the boys who could play at the reserves standard if they were given the chance.hmm

I was surprised to see from the league website that the game took place for the Kent League game at Thamesmead and the Bexley league side also played. Mixed results the Kent side lost 4 -1 and the Bexley side won 3-2. Unfortunately I could not attend either games, so anyone that attended please post a match report. Thanks

Last weekend saw our boys from the Kent league away at Pheonix Sports, it was a snow swept game and extremely cold.Again we had the majority of the possesion but just could not put that ball in the back of the net.As I predicted one quick break and the match ended
1-0 to Pheonix.
Hard luck boys plenty of effort, think we deserved at least one penalty and maybe two,but thats how these things go in football.
I am not sure who the Bexley side played but they won 2-0.
