Sounds great have a good day. What a weekend for the Lads.

Is this the Kingsmoor U18s? rather than the academy? How much are you looking to raise?

How did this weekend come about? Will there be a return friendly at some stage?

Comes via contacts.

Looking to raise as much or as little as possible. Hoping to arrange a few more, not sure about return as the PVR pitch is used alot. Its the Welling U18 side that plays in Kent Youth League U18 North Division.

thanks for your positive post

The games was played Sunday and I am pleased to say Welling Utd won 3-1 against Bolton Wanderers International Scholars. This is a great acheivement for the club as well as the players. As the Manager of the side I must say that i am delighted with the perfromance from the boys and could not be happier with the result and with the level of professionalism shown by the boys. They did Welling very proud.

On a slightly different note, I have read some of the replies on the other forum and I would just like to set the record straight. Our boys played the Bolton Wanderers International Scholars, now this is the information received from Bolton, the side is built up from players who are ineligible to play competitive football based upon EU ruling, so therefore unable to represent their Academy first team. Bolton themselves admitted the International scholars are 'as good' as the full squad, I will leave you guys to have your own quiet thoughts on this. Needless to say the boys won and did the club very very proud.

The squad which travelled is as follows Dean Nash, Chris McConnell, Michael Abiola, Brad Pay, Darelle Stewart, Tom Jewers, James Jewers, David Johnson, Jordan Lowe, Jae Taylor, Paul Kamara, Dean Elliott, Jamal Stevens, Ryan Mills, Marlon Thomas and Olu Boye. The goal scorers were Jordan Lowe, David Johnson and Marlon Thomas, with stunning performances from Brad Pay and Dean Nash (GK)

On a interesting note following the game, Bolton has asked for a return fixture which we are hoping to have at PVR at some point in May. I hope the game will be played in the same style and professionalism witnessed this weekend. Lets get behind our lads and give up some support if/when the fixture goes ahead.

A special thanks to Lou Robinson for his donation of a Welling United pennant which was received with thanks by the Bolton staff and players.

Many thanks for messages of support prior to the trip. This Sunday sees the boys tackling Dartford in the QF of the cup, game is at Princes Park, 11am this Sunday.

Regards,

Danny Hill U18s Manager

Taking a Kent Youth League side to and beating a Premier League side international scholars side is a real achievement and its a shame that some do not recognise that fact.

Well done Danny and the Under 18's and good luck in the QF of the Cup on Sunday.

Lets hope that if a return match does take place in May that you get some support from PVR regulars.

Well done Danny, lets hope one or two get a sniff of the first team squad, even if training with them. Sounds like they are a decent team if Bolton's team is strong. I am sure if we have a return match that there will be a few Fans turn up.
