We looked as if we were just starting to get in the match there with a few attacks. Then their keeper made a decent save from a corner, they countered and scored.
What an awful ground. I walked out after 15 mins and 2 laps of the ground when I couldn't find anywhere to see the pitch from. What a waste of time and money.

Indeed - 2226 people in the ground but I'd imagine no more than half are able to get a proper view. I've ended up watching from behind the (transparent) away dug out- can't see one corner of the pitch but have a good view of the rest, as long as no one in the dug out stands up!
Too many people off form today in a big game, and to their credit Maidstone played well. Someone above mentioned ten men and we might as well have played with ten. We did effectively. Disgraceful lack of effort and commitment.

Saying pitch was slow , said the pitch should be looked at because of wellings two injuries. It's got the highest rating by FIFA and we have had no injuries this year ! I think he should have just said we were poor and the better team won on the day.

The seated allocation was segregated and very small seats. Found out after the game this is where kids usually sit. Hated the restricted view. Best part of the day for me was the pie, chips and peas.
I felt for Harry at end of the game he looked totally gutted.
Credit to our keeper. Jamal, Harry, Jake and especially Barney, without doubt our man of the match. Unfortunately you do not win games with only half the team making an effort.
That was a pathetic display, matched only by our uptake of tickets. I do not subscribe to this Maidstone underdogs crap, they obviously pay their players a fair old whack, much more than we can afford. As for the pitch, it must be an advantage to the home team. It is a far different proposition from training on such a surface to playing matches on it regularly. There are, however, no excuses for our inept display but, before people rush to condemn Jamie for his post match comments, let us see what the medical reports reveal about our injured players. The PFA is opposed to these pitches, why?
Both players got injured during challenges nothing to do with the pitch . England have played on one , champions league games played on them so you will have to live with them. We have had no injuries this year on that pitch so why do you need any sort of report . In fact we have had more injuries when playing on grass over the last 3 seasons . UEFA and the fa endorse the pitches . Anyway good luck for the rest of the season .

Neither do I. Thought the best we might get today was a draw and then have a better chance in the replay. Has cost us importance cash...which does not help the conference survival bid.
Interesting that Jamie should comment that the pitch was slow, I was thinking exactly that when the teams were warming up. Before realising the nature of the beast, I had remarked that they had deliberately not cut the grass! As for FIFA recognition etc, if the PFA and other players unions in various countries decide to boycott artificial pitches, and I do not think that is beyond the realms of possibility, FIFA, FA etc can go whistle.
