Evening... There are some slight issues on the official site which we are currently working on, so this is a short statement from Welling United Football club.
Welling have relieved manager Jody Brown of his duties with immediate effect.
After a run of nine matches which has seen the club take just one point, the board felt that they had to act immediately in the best interests of the club's short-term aim of avoiding relegation.
As a result, long-serving defender Loui Fazakerley will head a caretaker management team for the foreseeable future.
The club's board has urged supporters to get behind Faza and the playing squad, starting with Sunday's televised fixture at home to Altrincham (1pm).
The board would like to place on record their thanks to Jody and his coaching staff for their efforts in the past two months.

Are you related to him or something wtid??? Anyway #coyw. Let's get behind faz now, loui fazackerlys red and white army is a tongue full but I'm sure we'll think of something.
Sorry Jody, but I am pleased. Unfortunately my gut feeling to the appointment was bad, backed further by Grays forum who were not sad to see him go. There, he loaned out some young promising talent, brought in some inadequate replacements and had some sour words with fans. It's been repeated.
If we go down with Faz, we go down as Welling United which I can accept. Would like to see Penny back and some action for Corne.
Those words "'if' we go down, we go down as welling united" sum it up perfectly. The club has completely lost its identity under brown and faz is the perfect person to bring that back.
The club has done the right thing, it is now up to all supporters to get behind the players on Sunday. We can still avoid the drop. All games are cup finals till the end of the season Mr Brown has gone our season starts Sunday.

This!
Maybe Hudson will be back soon as well. He may be erratic at times but he's been one of the best impact subs we've had in recent years.
Without trying to divide fans, all I've been saying is that we've got to be careful that we're not cutting off our nose to spite our face, and end up digging ourselves into a deeper hole.
We'll only find out whether the club have made the right decision on SUNDAY (yep, I can only blame the earlier 'Saturday' post as force of habit) and beyond.
Let's stop fighting with each other, and get behind the lads.
Excellent news. There will be a completely different atmosphere now at PVR for the televised game. Good luck to Faz and the rest of the caretaker team.
Very happy welling fan tonight good move by the club.
Wtid u tell me how he didn't deserve the sack? His lost the last 7 u off your head?
He sent penny out on loan that was a joke and others.
I don't agree with any of you're posts on this thread. Except let's all get behind the lads.
That's fair enough. I disagree with other people's posts all the time but I respect other people's opinions and don't make a big song and dance.
People calling for people to be banned just for voicing valid opinion is a very slippery slope. How long before that becomes an official rule of the forum, and what will the permitted opinions of the forum be?
Wtid u tell me how he didn't deserve the sack? His lost the last 7 u off your head?
Ask me that question at the end of the season as by then we'll definitely know whether I was right or wrong. Anymore debate on this matter now is just going to cause more grief.
I wouldn't say I was pleased of happy as it would have been better for all concerned if it had worked out. However it wasn't giving any signs it was going to and therefore it has got to be a sensible decision.
If he stands and says I'd do exactly the same again I have no sympathy, if he has learnt that you might be better served by having some empathy with the existing ethos of the club and gradual change would have been more acceptable even if results weren't necessarily much better he will have at least learnt something from this scenario.
We may or may not be better off but the atmosphere is almost bound to improve with Loui in charge and it is up to everyone to try and capitalise on that. I don't see the squad changing much given transfer window restrictions so we will at least get a fair idea if it was just an issue of playing for the manager or not.
why thank him??? he's a prat that single handedly nearly took us down. i would possibly also look at the recruitment process because somebody ****ed up royally with this appointment!!!!!!
I wonder if having a 'young, ambitious' manager like Jamie was the draw for employing Jody? It was always a gamble and maybe if we were in the office during his interview he might have impressed us?
We will always have to disregard managers who want or need a big budget and those who want good facilities (training, gym, dressing room, office, medical etc.) but it should still leave decent options in the future. Loui might even be the one long term?
Thing with Jody - he was constantly bringing in people, I understood the squad needed more numbers but it was never ending. Even last week another striker and coaching staff!
Just like with the playing staff where we have to hire younger, cheaper, ambitious players wanting to be in the shop window, I imagine financially its the same restriction with the management staff. Sadly, it won't always work
That said, it is easier to "bin" a player not performing, especially if non-contract, than it is to change the whole management team, who will then often want to change many of the playing staff as well.
Given some of the names being banded about last time, just 9-10 weeks ago, I imagine most of them would still be up for the job in the summer once Loui has had his go. Going with an older, wiser, more experienced head, with a track record, might be more sensible rather than just someone who "impressed at interview". Frankly I don't care how good their interview is, that isn't the job they will be doing. Some of the people that applied, or we should be after, almost shouldn't even need interviewing.
I'm actually looking forward to Sunday now. COYWs.
