Williams, Taylor, Francis, Hayles, Allen, Nelson, Brown
Midfielders - 4 signed
Joseph-Dubois, Spraque, Corne, Waldren
Strikers - 3 signed
Smith, Slabber, Devyne
Seeing that Joey was on the retained list but has now announced as signed, I would guess George Porter has not signed yet?
14 players on the books. Ideally would like to see an experienced keeper coming in and a back up on the books, another striker who is a bit more of a presence up front, and a left winger. Any thoughts?

Joey Taylor looked good in Midfield and Brown can be as a left sided midfielder so good to have some players who can play in different positions.
Corne, Waldren and Joseph-Dubois provide very good competition there. Slabber is someone who has also scored goals, he doesn't seem to have been as prolific last season, but I still think that's a very credible threat up front, especially alongside Jonte Smith.
Promising so far. The keeper is the big priority now.

Slabber changed his game a bit I think....jonte and devyne are the hit men...With slabber a presence and holding ball up etc. I would expect us to loan a keeper with not many about who are good enough but available to sign. For me corne and barney are as good as gone, that will free up around 400 I believe plus whatever fee for a couple more to come in
Sprague spent the whole of last season as a left back at Hendon although we may play him further forward. We seem to have enough defenders in terms of quantity now.
We need some more midfielders - a destroyer (Kargbo?) a more creative player and maybe another wide option.
As Polo and others have said a keeper would be handy!
Nice little club leatherhead...as a squad player he could do a job. Pjd very very rarely plays 90 mins. He's either subbed on or off almost every game.
I would guess that they train on one of the 3g facilities by the ground and the costs go directly to the council. Two teams playing on the pitch have been more than enough. I doubt that anyone trains on it as well although this is all assumption.
General, informed, speculation has it that Bod is on his way to Folkestone Invicta (although the tanners may well be in with a shout). I too believe that Sam and Barney may move on, Braintree the likely destination now that Jamie is talking about making Dean Frost his assistant. The Braintree local paper quotes him as giving the Iron current squad 10 days to accept terms, then he will assess the gaps he will need to fill - he mentions players he has worked with and knows.
More promising signings by MG, I was hoping he would nab Francis.
Generally excited with the squad that is coming together, but would like to see a keeper, and reserve, on the books. I think a vocal and experienced keeper is key to the defence. So I hope someone is on board sooner rather than later so the he can train with the squad for a few weeks.
but a warm welcome to the "new" Welling team, looking forward to watching you play, home & away.

What is Paul Bastock doing these days..... or do you not want THAT experienced and THAT vocal?
Lee Butcher quit the game for good after leaving us, which is sad. He did come in as cover on the bench at very short notice for the cup game against Maidstone although I believe he hadn't trained for some time since leaving.

What a shame. Fantastic keeper. Hardly put a foot wrong for us. I know work commitments stopped him from training 3 times a week and having no proper sleep when traveling to away games. Just thought training 2 evenings and less travel might suit him now.
If we're really stuck for a keeper then I believe Paul Agu (Bromley reserve keeper) is available. MG obviously knows him already, and the two evenings training may be better suited given his full time work commitments.
Maybe not the best option but an option nonetheless.
Brandon Hall went from England C keeper to not even making the £bbsfl££t team towards the end of the season. Doesn't mean he is not good enough of course but he seems to have lost form dramatically in the last few months. One also assumes that if he was on the payroll there his wage demands might be quite steep??
The other keeper released was Rafferty from Dover. Originally from Sidcup but don't know if he is still local. Has had some injury issues as well I believe so not sure.
Chris Lewington has also been released by Margate, former league keeper who lives local that Faz turned down at the last minute last season.

Warren Whitely signed Saturday i believe. He played for Thamesmead against us 2 weeks ago and was tearing us apart. A few of us had said that he looked useful. Ex Chelmsford i believe.
