To all those who have never been to one of the quiz nights, why not come along and bring a friend. Hot food is available to order at reasonable prices and cash prizes are available to win.

I've just asked Ken to send an email out to members when he is free, so you should receive it later. The AGM will be held 2 weeks today on Wednesday 27th July, 7.30pm in the Wings Bar.

No idea what's happening with the quiz nights now with the Over 30's nights being advertised as starting on the night the first quiz was due to be held.
Can't really see upstairs being the venue as there will be a DJ blasting out tunes downstairs.

I will see if I can speak to MG tomorrow regarding the plan. I'm thinking it may have to move to a different night, as they may well be using both floors of the bar on Friday nights.

Right, spoke to MG and Barry yesterday. They are happy for us to have the bar either Thursday or Sunday evening for the quiz. Any ideas on which would be preferred?

Im sure we will. I think we have to give one night a go and see how popular it is. The club's new friday night plans should bring in a lot more money than what the quiz's do so we have to see which night works for us.

Having spoken to other members of my team our preference is for Thursdays over Sundays particularly as due to several of us having another commitment on the first Sunday of each month we could not get a team up if that was chosen.
The other problem we have relates to the furniture. We have two people in our team who are unable for medical reasons to sit on the high furniture that is now in the clubhouse. I understand a couple of other teams are in the same situation. Until now we have brought tables and chairs down from upstairs to solve this problem but they are no longer there and I believe have been disposed of. Can low tables and chairs be found from elsewhere to solve this? I know there is some low furniture in the snug but probably not enough and it is not ideal anyway as it can be difficult sometimes to hear the questions from there.
I don't attend quiz night as it has always clashed with a long standing arrangement. However am I right in saying food is still available. If this is so then I would assume the fish shop would be closed on a Sunday night so food would need to be sourced elsewhere.
I would think Thursdays over Sundays but, as Polo has said, we need to try a Thursday night and see what happens.
I don't recall teams getting hammered at previous quiz nights and they usually finish around 10:30ish so that shouldn't be a problem for people who need to get up for work on a Friday.
Yes we may lose some people but we may gain some with people who have Friday night commitments??
My team all prefer Thursday nights. Whichever day, the furniture is crucial, as we have team members who cannot manage the high stools. If food is by the club, need to know what's on offer - presumably no fish and chips?
I will have to let you know about the two quiz nights that I am down for as I am not sure if Stephen or my sister can make either nights. Will know more after the weekend

Right after speaking with Mark and Lauren last week, the first quiz night will be a week today on the 8th September.
Regarding food, the food bar upstairs will be open serving the same food as match days, burgers, hot dogs, nuggets and chips etc. We need to do the same thing that we currently do, put our orders in before the start of the quiz so that it can all be cooked for the half time interval, then the staff can go. The bar will be open for the duration of the quiz.
A few people have asked about furniture. There are the diner style seats round one side of the room if people need more comfort. The tall chairs actually do change levels and come down quite low which I hope will be ok for some. There are also additional tables and some extra chairs we can use.
I know there are a few concerns about the format and numbers etc, but this is the situation we are in and we just need to work with what we have available. We will just have to see how next week goes.

We may not be there but please can you advise the costs of the food so I can do some new food order slips. I can then send a sheet to Davy before next Thursday.
Hi Davy
Denni and I cant do December quiz unless things change back to a Friday. With regards to Stephen's quiz in April, he is ok still to do it on a Thursday.
Having spent time arranging it with the club who have put arrangements in place to get staff in place, I don't think it would be a great start by cancelling it.
Seeing as we are getting the venue for free, which the club would normally try and hire out, us cancelling it may mean we don't get this slot back again.

Next Thursday, yes THURSDAY sees the return of the WUSA quiz nights, it will take place in the newly refurbished upstairs Wings Bar. Prices have unfortunately had to rise to £5pp with a maximum of 6 per team. Hot food will be available with the choice of Hotdogs, Burgers, chicken nuggets and chips (all cooked fresh on the premises) cost of which has still to be confirmed. Come along and join us and test your general knowledge against like minded people.

Just a quick reminder to all that the next WUSA quiz night takes place this coming Thursday (3rd) in the upstairs bar from 19:30 onwards hosted by Sherpa and myself.
Hope to see a good number of people there - hot food is available for those who want it.
Davy, I have heard this morning that the club is running student nights on a Thursday from 15th December, are the quizzes still going to happen after this?
Tonight will be the last Thursday quiz we have as from the 15th December the club will be running a student night.
However from January the quizzes will be on Wednesday's. Hopefully everyone can still make it. If anyone is interested in coming down to the quiz who hasn't before then you are more than welcome. We get underway tonight ay 7.45 and hot food is also available.

I'm afraid it will be my farewell to the quizzes tonight in that case as I am committed elsewhere on Wednesdays. I'm not sure whether the remainder of my team will continue to try to keep the team going until such time as MG decides to move it on to yet another night of the week!
Just a reminder that the first quiz of 2017 will be this Wednesday 11th January. It's Tracy and I who will be your quizmasters. It's only £5 to play with a cash prize for the winners and hot food available.
Starts upstairs in the Wings Bar from 7.30pm
