Weather forecast says there will be wall to wall sunshine all day too. Leave the inspection untill 12.30 and the sun will have thawed the pitch.
Apparently it's the Danson Park end that's the problem. It's very sheltered due to the trees and isn't thawing. Another hard frost overnight even though the covers are on will probably make that end unplayable. Hope I'm wrong.
10:00 is far too early for the inspection, it is a local derby after all, 12:00 would still give time for everyonr to be notified if its cancelled before they start travelling.
perhaps we should all go to the ground this morning and exhale all out hot air onto the pitch rather than on here?
Not sure really. I would guess though that with the temps last night, and then this morning, plus the cover at the park end that we could have had an issue with that part of the pitch.

just seems utterly ridiculous to call it off at 10am.
A local ref can come and inspect the pitch if the appointed ref lives far away.
regardless of playable or not it must be completely different by 1230 onwards, not saying would be defintely playable but definitely increases the chances and must be possible.
If if it was us at home I'd be disappointed with the loss in revenue as a Tuesday night could see about 1000 difference.
Again in I know this is nothing to do with welling and could happen to any team.
Much as I dislike plastic pitches, I think it is the only way forward for us at this stage financially, despite the initial heavy outlay. We could have had quite a crowd today with Charlton also frozen out - although the cold weather may also have put a lot of people off!
Young Barry has posted some pictures on twitter today and said that at midday today, that 40 yards of the pitch from the park end was still frozen. That would not have thawed out in time to play

It would not have been problem if the pitch was plastic, Polo. It is time the Council was taken to task for letting its trees interfere with our trade!

Up until yesterday I was totally against plastic pitches. My opinion changed today. I have just been to a match played on a 2 year old 4G pitch and when I got there I really thought it was real. The pitch was being heavily watered and did not have those nasty rubber lumps strewn about it. The ball played as though the pitch was grass, last week I saw a game on a 6 year old pitch which was fully of the rubbery stuff a la Maidstone. The 4G pitches seem to be improving and now seem to be the way forward.
