Ex Liverpool youth and England youth striker, David Moli signs for the Wings. He has been playing for a club in Poland - but see WUFC twitter a/c for spelling.

Well he's been around a bit in his brief career and has not been that prolific with his goals, but then I'm used to watching Harry K @ Spurs.

But a warm welcome to David, and best wishes for the coming season.

Someone that MG was talking about at Chelmsford away. Seems to have had a few clubs over the last couple of years and never really lived up to his hype for whatever reason.

Hopefully he can become settled at Welling and bang a few goals in. Welcome David!

Confirms what we expected that the chairman will be signing players with no input from the management team

The signing was basically done in February...he's been in contact with him since then and moli was even asking how we were getting on every week, how that didnt put him off signing i dont know!

Was a great talent a few years ago, lets hope he can get sone of that back

A couple of questions I have:

I would like to know if the management team were happy with this signing and indeed if they knew about it.

I hope I am proved wrong but his CV does not fill me with confidence. Would be happy to be proven wrong.

Have a look at Ross Lafayette's scoring record before joining us. Not the greatest but he turned out OK. Yes I have reservations but hopefully with a settled season and some good service you never know.

Time to be optimistic!

Having read some of the comments about this signing,  I hope Jamie Coyle was involved/consulted before a final decision was made. Jamie must have a lot of contacts  - and he was well-respected at Maidstone. Surely he must be able to bring in players he knows will do a good job for the Wings?

Yeah I know Polo....just that the last 20 have been ****e!

A proven striker like a Goldberg (who knows) would be useful

I don't think Coombes was that bad and I am pretty sure he was in the list of the last 20 forwards signed.

And didn't have an especially prolific record for previous clubs.
