Do not rate Jack Parkinson (4) one bit.
All the gobbling off and swearing at David Moli (11) totally unjust.
Maybe he does something on the training pitch that impresses, he hasn't in the Charlton and Phoenix games.

Think Moli looks a class act for this league.
Movement and ball control/passing very good. Did he sustain an injury today?

You must be watching a different game to me regarding Moli!? Out of position a lot and constantly needing coaching from the side.

Parky has been a class act for this club for years and has been hunted by league clubs for years.

You can never read too much into pre season. The year we won the league we had an awful pre season. As long as everyone is firing fit on the 5th August is all that matters

Jack is a class player at our level, i did wonder what was going on with moli...spent 5 mins next to the bench waving his arms around. Admittedly he did show a few nice touches etc, but his attitude seems poor and cam see why he has had so many clubs.

Going back when I first saw Jack Parkinson I thought he was bambi on ice. He soon proved me wrong. Though granted he's better at holding midfield or centre back rather than centre midfield IMO.

Loads of players that have played hundreds of games in the Conf Prem by the time they are in their late 20s are useless aren't they? He can play 2 positions and could play in the league above. Much rather have him in our side than against us, like when he dumped us out of the FA Cup at Maidstone. Its pre season and early in pre season.

Have a look at the number of players we have that played at a higher level last season, its frightening.

Remember last season when too many just dossed about and only Waldren and Lewington trying to gee them up? Its a positive that we have player out there demanding more from everyone, it shows they care.

Cannot wait for the season to start.

Pre season games are just that, getting match fitness, trialists, trying new formations etc. The result does not count for anything, anyway watched Blyth Spartans 0 v Carlisle 3. Lots of trialists, loads of subs, different formations, everyone happy. Jack Parkinson is a quality player at this level good enough for League 1 after what I saw yesterday.

Difficult to read a lot into the Charlton game as it is essentially a fitness exercise as the manager and others have already alluded to.

A few observations

I quite liked the look of the young right back (Dujoraiye??) who can play at centre back as well - might be worth a squad place if we are running a smaller squad this season??

Would be great to have Ben Jefford back as long as the terms are reasonable.

We might have a new Jake Gallagher in the making in young Dymond. Needs to curb his "enthusiasm" a little or else he will be watching more games than actually playing in them...

Whilst I am pleased to have Sam Corne on board I don't know how we fit him, Healy, Dymond and Parkinson into central midfield. Of course if the last on that list was to play as a centre half that would make life easier all round...

Goldberg junior looked sharp and I think will score plenty against National South level defences.

Hard to tell about Bradbrook and Pavey (hope the latter didn't get badly injured at the end??) but it made a pleasant change to see a Welling target win some headers and generally put themselves about.

The basis of a decent spine (and squad) is there but we might need more penetration in wide areas.

Up the Wings!
