Well pleased with the three points at the weekend. Although St Albans started the season like a house on fire with six wins out of six, they haven't been as strong of late but it is still good to keep our recent away form going especially with two of our regular back four suspended.

I thought Archie looked a bit lost at first and was struggling a bit in the last 10/15 minutes but that was probably due to a lack of match fitness of late - for the most part he acquitted himself well. The formation seems to be suited to playing away from home and when we got the ball down and passed it we looked a decent side. Both goals were very well worked and we could have had a couple more If the final pass/shot had come off. I am not sure Goldberg is suited to the lone striker role but he worked hard for the hour he was on, made some intelligent runs and had an assist for the first goal. He is probably more suited to playing behind the front man but Healy has that role at the moment and hasn't done a lot wrong in recent weeks to be fair! Phipps was a different option when he came on and he gave them plenty to think about and was a constant threat in the last half hour. I couldn't really fathom the substitutions of Healy and Jebb (another good performer on the day) as they are both good at keeping and moving the ball - of course if they had knocks it was understandable but I think we conceded the midfield a little too easily after they had both gone off. However, as has been said elsewhere, our keeper made a couple of vital saves late on when called upon and we were able to see out the victory despite the referee adding on a bizarre five minutes injury time?! Good turnout of Wings there to see it as well.

Four wins out of four away from home and now we need to translate those results and levels of performance to PVR. We have been a bit hot and cold at home this season so far but we saw that this formation could work in the Chippenham game and hopefully the Wealdstone game was just a blip and we can get back to winning ways on a regular basis at PVR.

Up the Wings!

A good, upbeat, summary Wingnut. Just a few possible blips on the horizon if, or when, Sutton recall Jeffrey Monakana, and if Eli Phipps returns to Colchester. There is also a goalkeeping problem if the former Palace keeper has not recovered from injury. I don't know what our arrangement is with Sutton for Jack Jebb but he will be a major loss if he has to go back. We have performed so well in most recent games, it just seems such a shame if we do lose key players and that hampers our progress. Hopefully Jamie and colleagues have already planned for this and have some replacements lined up.

Jack Parkinson explained it in here:

Healy had run himself into the ground. Jebb felt his hamstring and they didn't want to risk long lasting damage.

Unfortunately, Dillon Barnes and Eli Phipps have gone back. If Kleton Perntreou isn't fit to return, they have other options. Three strikers when Welling only use one may be a luxury although it does leave the squad a little thin, especially if Jeffrey goes back to Sutton as well.
