Bloody hell. On another day the score would of been 8-3. Concord must of kissed the Blarney Stone a few times not to have been 3-0 down after 15 minutes. Their first attack got them a goal. They mugged us again for their second goal. Then after grafting to get the lead we got caught again. I can't really fault the players today though. We looked good at times. Joe Healy was Fabulous today. What a fecking good player he is. I expect he's wondering how he wasn't on the winning team today. Congrats to Archie Johnson too. Great performance. COYW.
Sublime football at times but if we don't take our chances.......we pay the price..... too may wayward balls from a team that have played together 1/2 a season.......saying that some great performances today from Joe, Olu, and Archie to name just a few............onwards and upwards !!
I guess Saturday afternoon is what you call mixed emotions?!?! At quarter past four we would all have taken a point but by quarter to five we are gutted not to have taken all three! Reminded me in many ways of the Bognor game earlier in the season where we had enough chances to win three games and gave away some soft goals by poor decision making and/or poor goalkeeping. Even after they pulled it back to 3-3 we could and maybe should have won the game with the last kick!
We actually started pretty well and could have been one or two up before they scored with a nice breakaway goal. Even after that we had chances to get level or in front before half time but poor finishing, good goalkeeping and/or a poor final ball cost us. I felt that we panicked a bit with the double substitution in the second half so early as we were still creating chances and, before we had worked out who was doing what, we were two down. Once again credit to our lads for their fightback - as has been said before last year's mob would have run up the white flag at 0-2. A touch of class from Healy and finally some end product from the left hand side with a quality ball from Johnson and it is 2-2. Eli certainly made an impact (as he did at St Albans last week) and suddenly we are 3-2 up - in some ways he seems the most suited to the lone striker role from the current forwards we have available?? The less said about the equaliser the better - suffice to say the keeper looked a bag of nerves all afternoon although that is somewhat understandable joining a new team and not knowing how we operate and vice versa.
We don't seem to be as effective at PVR as we have been away from home recently although, as I have already said, we created plenty of chances playing the same way on Saturday. However we can't afford to give teams a two goal start as we have done in the last two home league games...
The usual, incisive, analysis by Wingnut. Just a reflection, but I wonder whether our setup on Saturday was based on the successful team formation at St Albans? If so, I don't think the size of our pitch lends itself to such an expansive approach and I wonder whether different tactics are needed at home? That said, I don't think we will play many teams with so many players who are used to playing at PVR!

Wingnut, I don't know what your vocation in life is, but for me you wouldn't be out of place as a pundit, or even presenting Match of the Day!! It is very rare I read a supporters comment/report on here which totally reflects the game I saw, so take a bow and keep up the good work, Monday morning pleasures are enhanced by your presentations! Agreed the new keeper looked nervous, even perhaps a bit rusty, (I look forward to the day when we have a keeper with an easy name to spell and say!) that back pass which led to Concord's equaliser should have been kicked into the park. Also I can't recall one major moan or mention about the ref which is most unusual, and suggests to me he is one of the better ones at our level, not noticed most of the game? So, Mr Finnie, please also take a bow. Finally, congratulations to the owners, management and team on the progress so far this season, your efforts have won back this Lion, a self confessed preferred red or white or pink, and oval ball lover, now being entertained after two seasons loitering in the jungle without a football, following all the cr*p deposited at PVR! And take a bow all you supporters who have continued to tread in it during that time, your loyalty has to be second to none and is now hopefully being rewarded? Come on you Wings!
Ha ha, need to change my footnote!! Now changed, it said "doomed" from two year ago!

Very entertaining game and disappointed to only come away with a point. However the team showed good character to come back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2. Never a good feeling to concede a late goal though
