Starting formation left lots of us baffled, at times it looked like we had 6 in midfield. For the second game running we brought on Eli and it changed the game. We scored 2 goals very quickly including a cracker from Joe Healy who lobbed the keeper from the half way line! We had a great chance to score at 2-2 where a scramble never went in but after that we soaked up a lot of pressure. Archie Johnson was quiet in the first half but played well second half and put 2 fantastic crosses into the box, of which one led to the goal. Before the game i would have taken a point and after the first half I would say it was a great point to get.
Observations...... in no way shape or form is that keeper good enough. He panicked at crosses, caused the defence to fall apart, and the times he parried the ball out instead of holding it was strange. We need a new keeper before next week badly. I've said before how I'm not the biggest Nanetti fan. In injury time he had ample time to cross the ball and didnt, instead diving for a penalty. Only 1 person out of nearly 70 or 80 behind the goal thought it was a penalty, and it led to what i believe was his 4th yellow card if the season for simulation. Pretty poor if that's the case and clearly leading to a reputation amongst officials. Next week i would bring jefford into left back and Archie on the wing
A great point gained against an in form team, we are currently in the play off places and I'm sure we would have taken that at this stage when the fixtures were announced!

Have to agree with your Nanetti comments. Shame really, because he works really hard. His work rate is probably the highest out of the entire team when it comes to distance covered. Don't think it is time for the scrap heap for him just yet, but the way forward in my opionion is, as you mentioned, Archie Johnson on the wing. What I have seen of him over the past couple of weeks has been excellent. His positional play, ability to read the game, strength and skill make him a player I would like to see at PVR for some time. Archie looks comfortable on the ball, has pace and more importantly, can deliver a decent cross. This is something that Nanetti can't. Maybe if Nanetti was to look up before he crosses the ball, it may help.
As for the first half set up, it had a similar look to Gloucester away. Could understand it at Gloucester due to having to kick uphill and against 50mph winds, but not for this game. Saying that, we still had a few half chances in the early stages of the first half.
So, a new keeper please and Archie on the wing. Thanks.

Jeffrey Monokana, a luxury we cant afford. The defensive part of his game is non existent. Time and time again yesterday the HH right back ran down the wing past JM and caused us problems. I know a lot of people like him but hes not for me. Doesnt do enough going forward to justify his place in the team. He had a great chance yesterday to play Bradbrook through but chose to try and score a wonder goal. All season Ive been saying the same thing Monakana is lazy and only comes alive when the balls at his feet. Id drop him for the Trophy match and give Archie the winger position with Bradbrook and Goldberg up front. That pair will score goals for us if given time to gel. The first 20 minutes at Bath they were superb and when paired up yesterday created chances. 4-3-3 doesnt work for us when you have a lazy winger.

Sorry, but it is Monokana for me every game. Fast, great skill and puts in a great cross (ask Joe Healy!) Nanetti puts a shift in and, on his day, is unplayable. Archie is a good player too - there is room for all three options.
I thought the game yesterday was a great advert for non-league football. A genuinely exciting match with plenty of good passing football. Yes there were mistakes but that's to be expected at this level. A draw was a fair result although both teams had more than enough chances to win it.

Monakana is a plus for me. I do agree that his workrate without the ball could be much better and he goes to sleep when we haven't got the ball. However he is a real threat with the ball and does deliver an end product. Teams have doubled up on him at PVR in recent games but he is still a big asset for me at our level.
I am not and never have been a Nanetti fan. He clearly has a reputation now with referees and will have to almost be shot for a referee to give him a penalty. And don't confuse running around a lot with work rate - they are not the same thing. Can you please tell me a game where Nanetti has been " unplayable" this season?!?!
