A decent but not quite good enough performanc. We did nt take our chances and conceded a soft goal. But other results have gone our way today. Hopefully Coombes injury is nt a pulled hamstring and is just a twinge.

Good and gritted performance vs top of the league. But also an example of why we wouldn't go anywhere but back down next year if were to win the playoffs some how. Get in good positions but do nothing with it. However was a very soft goal and thought deserved more from the game. Playoffs still in sight..but gonna take a lot to get anywhere in it. Vose looks quality inbetween the sticks though.

Deserved a draw. We created all the chances - free kick tipped onto bar, hit post from corner, Coombes glancing header and Philpots header just over the bar. Vose did not have anything to do. They were well organised and solid at the back but offered no threat up front, certainly nothing special for top of the league. They celebrated their goal as if they had won the World Cup so it was pleasing to see one of them go off injured as a result of their goal celebration! Not sure how Jebb got MOTM, Coyle or Jefford for me who were both very good. Go again Tuesday.

Bugger!! Should of got and deserved a point there. Very decent display. Their keeper made some very good saves especially from Jebb's free kick just before H/T. We hit the post from point blank range just after that too. Thought we defended well for most of the game and limited them to few chances. Their fella simply reacted quicker when the ball went loose at the corner that eventually led to their goal. They're a big strong battering ram team on that performance. This really isn't a great league this year and if we had better home form we would be safely in the play offs. We can't afford to slip up now if we are to have any chance to finish 7th or above. COYW.

Interested to hear people's opinions on their double substitution in the second half.
Thought their lump of a centre back was having a good game.
Swapped him and another and went for a attacking formation when they appeared under the cosh.
Shortly after they scored.
Thought it was a good managerial call personally.
Missing Coombes is going to affect us.
As others have said, another one we could have won, but unfortunatly never.
Thought Healy was MOM by a country mile.
The way he can get the ball on the floor and play ball to feet football should be a lesson to the rest of the team.

Thought Jebb totally deserved MOM today-he is a class player and technically phenomenal but his work rate and pressure is not always there-today it was...so hats off to him from me.....Thought that was best home performance I've seen all season.....Havant were excellent at the back-only conceded 26 goals all season but otherwise they were nowhere out of our league....very disappointing that we've lost 5 points over the last 2 games where we've performed superbly....let's smash Hemel on Tuesday and get back in it !!! COYW !!

And a dreadful post

So frustrating can't fault the efforts today but like Wealdstone we switched off from a corner, you can't do that at any level. If we don't make the play offs it won't be this game that has hurts us, it's Gloucester, Oxford at home etc. Must win Tuesday otherwise it's looking like curtains for our play off hopes.

Really? We are 9th and this is a dreadful league where quality is in short supply. The game had a few moments but they were few and far between, so the post is pretty accurate to my mind

No last season was dreadful and the season before that well that was truly dreadful. At times this season has been dreadful (over Xmas comes to mind) but today was not dreadful. But if you see it differently so be it.

Very disappointed to have lost on Saturday. After a good spell either side of half time we looked like we might nick a win only to concede yet another soft goal and end up with nothing. Havant were big, strong, organised and to have only conceded 26 goals in the league (and only 10 away from home) is one hell of an achievement at any level of football in truth. They also play mistake free football which was the difference on Saturday. To succeed at this level you need to have some big units and a bit of flair built around that as we did when winning this league under Jamie Day. I am not sure if Havant have that much flair but they have the rest of the package and this season, in this league, that seems to be enough. By the end of the game we looked a little small and a little lightweight all round by comparison. The only small consolation I can take from Saturday is that we didn't do D******* any favours!

I can't fault the effort and commitment of our lads. The turning point for me was the Coombes injury - whilst he wasn't having the best of games personally the three pronged attack we had was keeping them honest and it appeared to deflate us when he went off and gave them a lift at the same time. We didn't try to get behind them nearly enough in the second half and resorted to floating in diagonal crosses which was meat and drink most of the time to their defence. As the manager alluded to in his interview we lacked something in the final third and that was unusual for us of late.

The overriding feeling is probably frustration and the fact that there was a point there for the taking and yet we didn't take it! We played poorly at home to Gloucester, came from behind twice yet still ended up with nothing. We played poorly against Oxford yet still had a draw for the taking late in the game and threw that away. We played ok at Wealdstone, switched off and lost another point. That alone is four points tossed away which would make the table look a lot healthier from our point of view this morning.

However all is far from last and we can still make the play offs! Yes we have injuries and suspensions to deal with but we are more than capable of getting positive results in all of our last five games starting tomorrow night (weather permitting) We need to be more ruthless at both ends of the pitch especially defensively. We will score goals most weeks (we are the second highest scorers in the league I believe) so we need to eliminate mistakes at the other end and we can still finish in the top 7.

Up the Wings!
