We just dont seem to be able to get many wins against the top 7 sides. Sort of explains why we are where we are.

We had the most clear cut chances but I think the lino must have had his house on a 0-0 draw as he couldnt wait to flag offside for players clearly on.

We can still make the play offs but top half and build on it for next season looks more realistic.

First half was terrible, although at least we hung on. All their efforts in first half seemed to take a tole in the 2nd and they didn't look like doing a thing either! Brad Goldberg is way off the pace at the moment, looks like he needs a rest. 4 games and 4 wind needed now, not impossible on our day but improvement needed for sure.

St Albans have had a couple of poor results and have a tough run-in. I think 4 wins will take us into the top 7 but we will have to play much better than we did tonight in every game.

I have to disagree with some of the comments above as I enjoyed the game and thought we put in a lot of effort. They clearly were up for it in the first half and our defence stood solid, 2nd half they were not so active and we were matching them. Neither keeper had much to do and we clearly miss Coombes. The linesman did give some wrong offside decisions, which didnt help our cause. As for our results against top sides weve not lost heavily, often looked the better side, and could have so easily picked up points with a bit more effort / luck; so Im confident about our prospects for the run in.

I would have started him but he would of gone off a lot quicker than what he did...

And I would of put Oli Milton on, young lad with nothing to lose. Would of gone out made himself a nuisance.

Infective in the final 3rd Goldberg, running down blind allys and doesn' get his head up enough..hes really disappointed me over the last few weeks when now is the time we need to be putting in that little extra effort.

Totally agree, he has been woeful for a few weeks, I certainly would not be offering him a new deal on recent performances. Very disappointing. As for play offs, it needs 4 wins and a snooker or two to get there now.

Once again can't fault the effort and commitment of our lads last night.

It was a strange game. We seemed to start very slowly (not for the first time) although that may be down to some tweaks in the formation. Olu didn't look comfortable playing wide right but, as always, gave his all while Hall on the other side was anonymous. I was quite impressed with Hemel in the first half hour as they knocked the ball around well and got in behind us a few times and caused a lot more problems than Havant did on Saturday. When we did get the ball we wasted it time and time again and even simple passes were going astray. I see that Goldberg is coming in for some stick on here but I think the service to the front two in the first half was almost non existent and when it did arrive, they were isolated with little or no help.

Second half we got to grips with them much better and it was far more even. However neither team looked really positive and for a play off "six pointer" it was a poor game all round. Our defence looked solid and in particular the two centre backs. Had the referee not bottled it and sent off their number 7 halfway through the second half then we may have created a few more opportunities. It was very stop start in the second half due in part to some really inept officials. The one that Goldberg sliced over the bar was nowhere near offside although the "goal" that Philpot scored near the end most definitely was.

Of course we missed Coombes last night as he is our main goal threat and also frees up more space for the other two to operate in. I also think we missed Jebb nearly as much. He is capable of opening up teams with the right pass and also takes a very good set piece which were poor for most of the game last night. Our manager looked the most likely to score in both halves last night which speaks volumes. We seem to have tightened up defensively in the last few games but, at the same time, we are not looking as dangerous at the other end as I would expect although balancing the two is never easy. As I said full marks for commitment and effort even when things were not going our way particularly in the opening stages.

For me it looks like we need 4 wins from 4 now for any chance of the play offs and maybe a prayer or two along the way as well?! Whitehawk will not be easy by any means on Saturday but we need to go there and be positive from the off and hopefully, with a good support behind us, we can get the first of those 4 wins.

Up the Wings!
