FFS. So from saying he has bodies ready to sign and taking Joe Healy out for lunch, dinner and tea to persuade him to re-sign to throwing the towel in. Absolute shambles. Mind you there were rumours that himself and Parkinson were offered contracts and that Parkinson signed and Coyle didn't.......Who's next.
Tristan shouldnt be a shock. There have been whispers for a while that he has been offered a deal by Bill and Ricky and with Coyle coming into run the academy his role was unclear.
Coyle is a shock as only yesterday he was talking about targets and players were signing. I suppose it will come out over the coming days as to the reason why.
Good luck to both in whatever they go going forward.

It is wrong though that the club have not made any official statement yet on this and also on Tristan. Totally bizarre.
All the best to Jamie, really shocked given only recently signed a contract for next season. We are also losing a very capable centre back. Can only guess what the reasons are but us fans deserve an official word from Goldberg.

Well it seems to me by the lack of any clear reason for this is there has been a falling out or he's decided to go because he's not happy about what he's gonna have to work with next season. If it was all amicable then the reason would of come out by now.
Even more bizarre is that Jamie Coyle will still have a key role in our academy - does he have a separate contract with the academy on the education side?
Well that came as a big surprise, I thought all the signs were that hed committed to next season and was already looking at forming his squad. Players that have signed, believing he was staying, must feel cheated.
The lack of information from the club is very disappointing and can only lead to speculation that there has been a big falling out, perhaps over money and squad size, with JC deciding he did want another year of lacking resources.
Until we know more, and know who getS appointed and where JC is off to we cannot judge. But credit to him, he came in, remodelled the squad and secured a top 10 finish. There were some strange decisions over the season and too many matches lost that should have been won.
I wish him well, and thank him for all the effort hes put in.
Would the club get rid of a manager who was challenging for the play offs given last year was a shambles? No
Interesting it says the club have agreed for Coyle to part ways, not cancel contract. That would indicate they never actually signed a deal to tie down Coylie.
There are new directors at the club x 4 and everyone walks out. Maybe the club did not share the ambition of the manager. If the club wanted Coylie to go which is about as likely as finding rocking horse shiiit, then a swift announcement of his successor will be forthcoming,
Maybe the Chairman and the directors want to bring Jamie Day back from the wilderness.
- 10 place finish - Big improvement on last season where we nearly went down
- One of the highest budgets in the league (top 3?) - Maybe not top 3 but top 7-10?
- Let the top scorer in the league leave for D*rtf*rd ..... Unlucky here as i think it was an attitude thing and hindsight is great
- NINE (9) goalkeepers. I suppose we'll never know why we lost our keeper at the start, doubt we could sign anyone other than loans
- TEN (10) home losses Agree here that our home form was poor. Club also has to look at lack of atmosphere and attendances as nothing seems to have been done to address it
- Choked v Bognor (h), Oxford (h), Whitehawk (a).....East Thurrock United (h).....{insert others} Plenty of poor results but don't forget the good ones, Havant away, St Albans home, Hampton away (mostly), Bognor, E Thurrock, Poole away etc.
- Whimpered out of BOTH cups 1st attempt (Haringey Borough two leagues below) Can't offer any positives here
- "consistency of management". One coach left and one DoF went from stand to touchline.... Things had to change after Christmas and Hugo was an obvious choice. DoF - i think it was more touchline to stand then back to touchline but a change was needed after a bad run
- manager a nice guy / not really a leader / He did a year (stability) / Good squad / Was his heart REALLY in it? I think he was a leader but perhaps needed a bit more support behind the scenes. Whether that's a motivational coach (thinking home form/cups), better set up with training/facilities, more support from club/investors - who knows? Coylie came up to us after Poole away and had a good chat about the club, team, stability - i think wherever he is his heart is in it and that included us.
.........................
Someone can do the good points........ !!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you've been harsh on someone who has come to the club after the previous 2-3 seasons shambles. To bring in a new squad, compete for the play offs and end up top half was ok in my opinion. There have been disappointments with some performances and decisions but i was hoping they would be ironed out ahead of next season. Olu, Dymond, Healy all turned out to be a real nucleus of the team with Coombes back (unlucky injury) and some decent loans - Vose, Philpot, Acheampong, Oku. Archie looks a better player, Jebb improving towards the end and not forgetting JC himself - still a decent player.
Coyle did a good job. Where all the management failed was in the cups. It was truly shambolic but they would admit to that.
I think at this level you need someone who is almost full time to manage the team on and off the pitch. Not fitting in Welling United. Lets hope we dont get a recently retired player or ex Bromley player as Manager as both would be huge gambles and put us back where we were after being Raggy arse rovers last season and probably the worst Welling side in 20 plus years and trying to get relegated with a team of mercenaries.
Lets hope they bring in a decent manager. Ian Allinson, Jamie Day or Jody Brown... someone like that who have had success. We definitely would struggle with someone like Nick Frisbee.

"There are new directors at the club x 4"
"Tristan shouldn't be a shock. There have been whispers for a while that he has been offered a deal by Bill and Ricky"
All reasons a bit more openness from the club on their plans, to the fans. Appreciate some may not be able to be discussed before but would be good to get an idea what the plans are for the future with so many changes at the club. (and don't get me wrong, I think there have been some decent improvements at the club and will continue to be more).

Remains Head of Education for the academy. Possible that the two jobs just too much for him and hes chosen to leave the managers job as the other is more stable.
Its all speculation until he says himself why hes left.
