Truro are to issue a press release tomorrow morning. It would seem that they are to announce that they will be playing their home games this season at Torquay.
It appears their fans are unhappy about this . I shouldn't think any Wings fans who've booked hotels in Cornwall for next month will be too pleased either.
Seems Torquay jumped the gun about this announcement. You have to feel for White Tigers fans and all visiting fans for the first few matches like us who have pre-booked now that the on-off ground share deal this season is now back on again!
A difficult weekend off the pitch wasn't helped on it, they went down 2-1 to neighbours Falmouth in the traditional friendly - who are 4 divisions below them!

I see Truro have confirmed the situation now with a press statement. Leaving at the end of the month. Thinks it is something like a 200 mile round trip for the home fans. Be like us playing at Oxford.

Suits me. Make it happen...
Lucky you. We're booked for three nights in Penryn and it's non refundable so close to the event. I cannot see how the league can allow this at such short notice.

Why not. What happens if they say no? They go ahead and demolish the ground anyway. We have a League of 21 teams. Do you say they can't play for a month but they then can play at Torquay, that just winds up with fixture chaos and and more teams travelling to Torquay mid week. Either way there is the potential for 2012 style publicity which the League aren't going to want if they can avoid it and your money is dead unless you want a weekend on the beer in Falmouth.
They aren't going to set a precedent against moving ground mid season this year of all years in case Dulwich get their ground back. Just so happens Truro's nearest available graded ground is 100 miles away where Dulwich's is closer. There was also the mooted East Thurrock sale that could also land on their mat.
Unfortunately it is the supporter at all levels who gets shafted. It is why I don't, as a rule, book non-refundable accommodation. This has happened in the past when I have booked for what are out and back matches for most of you but not me being moved at short notice, cancelled in favour of county cup games, being indirectly rearranged because other clubs can't get their grounds playable etc. It isn't fun but we are expected to wear it and unfortunately I don't see that changing.
Surely the obvious thing to do is approach Truro, explain the situation and ask to use their bus? You still get most of your weekend and hopefully, if it does cost extra, it isn't very much and they still get the gate revenue.

To anyone who has booked a non refundable hotel in the Truro area on (or starting on) the Saturday night and travelling down by train:
My wife and I will be travelling from Torquay to Truro after the game and have two spare seats in the car. Anyone, potentially on the 07:57 from Paddington, who wants picking up from Newton Abbot, taken to the game and then to your hotel in the Truro area is welcome. No charge. Send me a PM.

not going myself (shock) but just to say - nice offer
Just checked Torquays and Truros fixtures from August the 4th to January 1st and yeah youre guessed right when Torquay are at home Truro are away. F**king stitch up by the league. They knew all about it but chose not to inform the fans of those clubs who play them in the first few weeks at Truro. Pinkie and I have booked 3 nights away in Newquay and Truro no refund for Newquay but can cancel Truro.

Would you still be going to Truro if there was no game at all?
According to posts on the National and National South forums Billerickey was segregated and did not have refreshments available in the away section. Fans were escorted by stewards to get their teas etc in the home section. For that game it seems Torquay season ticket holders were allowed in for nowt.
