'Crisis point' for Boro as club faces threat of league expulsion

From the Farnborough News and Mail

" FARNBOROUGH Town Football Club is on the brink of collapse after senior first team players insisted they will not play against Cambridge City tomorrow if they are not paid before kick-off.

Such is the disillusionment with the club’s financial plight that the players may refuse to play even if they receive the money owed to them.

The club faces expulsion from the Conference South if it fails to fulfil the fixture."

Full story at Farnborough News and Mail

The management and players have done their bit overcoming the 10 point deduction and getting out of the relegation places (just) and would have been comfortably mid table had it not been for the deduction. Let's hope somebody breaks open their piggy bank and the players have a change of heart but based on the last couple of years the future for Farnborough looks pretty bleak.

IF they throw Boro out we are top of the league, as both histon and stortford beat them and we lost to them.

Not nice but if it does go pear shaped for them it helps us although we wouldnt wish that on them.

The silence from the Club is deafening but the Supporters Trust have reported that the Players decided on Thursday to travel to Cambridge despite not having been paid though a partial payment is expected today.

The full statement can be found here.
