Nice goal from carths, First goal a shambles as we just never got anyone to clear from the 4 or 5 that were watching. Harper should have scored with header, then beat defender, rounded keep and hit the post, rebounded to che, almost certain to score and fell over!!!
Our keeper made 2 fantastic saves , first one world classand wasnt protected by absolute farcical defending! have a look we look like rabbits in headlights. Newport took the piss with second goal and we just watched them. 3rd goal we give ball away and holdsworths shot deceived David and flew in from miles out.
Sort the defence out ffs!! Because that was shocking, we could have conceded 6 or 7 both the last 2 games if it hadnt been for David in goal. Keds came on and looked unfit/injured or ill. Im not interested in the injuries as weve let so many defenders go and have no cover.
We need someone at the back desperately. All of the hard work is in jeapody and dont say calm down we are fifth, We were top and in 2 games have looked like a team with no ideas or confidence. from the extended highlights ive seen. Somebody whos been to both games tell me any difference?
Adie needs to make changes and id start with Bringing Sam in for Harper. Wheres Battersby gone? Hopefully Richard Carpenter will bollock the life out of them and get them performing.

I wasn't at the game yesterday, but have to agree with the defence side of things - things haven't looked too secure post Christmas in my opinion. Any ideas on when Lewis is back - he had a very good game before going out injured if I remember rightly.
Personally I think Harper's been doing a good job so far, and I certainly think other areas need improving before those changes are made. Battersby didn't look up to too much last week against Stortford, although Sam is looking better the more match practice he gets.
On paper Carpenter looks like a good signing, and I think Ade and Phil done well to get Wilkinson in from Palace - positive signs for the club.
Let's hope defensive changes are made sooner rather than later.
You may or may not agree with this but I personally think anything we would have picked up in the last two game would have been a bonus given what has transpired (and thay are two games we may have lost anyway).
Let Graham get given a proper send off on Tuesday, draw a line and say the next chapter of WUFC history starts from there.
Now is not the time to panic but believe that Pennock has got it right for most of this season and will again.
(Des Boateng is not and never will be a right back and that caused a number of problems yesterday!)
Just thought i would give my view on your team as an outsider if you don't mind.I've attended most Newport games this season home and away and to be honest i really do think perhaps your being a little negative about your team.Having seen all the top sides at least once i really do think you are a top five team in the division.Yesterday's game was very even for most of the game and it wasn't until the last 15 or 20 minutes that we really started to think that we could win the game because up until then i personally would have settled for a point.I really did think that you defended quite well for most of the game and your no. 5 gave our top scorer Craig Hughes no change at all and it wasn't until we replaced Hughes with new signing Charlie Griffin that we first looked like we might win the match. You certainly looked a better side than Histon and Bishop's Stortford to me but maybe just behind Havant and Salisbury. Good luck for rest of season,c u in the play offs.
If you look at the goals to game ratio of Harper its just not good enough, he has missed a lot of chances , a hell of a lot. Sam and Kedwell look goal scorers who put it away when it matters more often. I know Adie thinks Perks is a center half and not a midfielder these days but i dont think he is. Having Ben out is a massive blow, Ben and Mooro all day long for me. Leon looked shakey yesterday but perhaps the teams confidence is dropping. Get a game versus Thamesmead or VCD in midweek and smash ten past them.
Agreed Adie has done well in bringing in the keeper and Carpenter but if the defence is all over the show we would have to score 4 a game and with Harper playing we wont do that.
If i get time ill do the goals to games ratio for the strikers and midfielders this season.
Strikers are there to score or set up goals. Andrew Sam deserves a run in the side and that means getting him match fit and then starting him with Keds. Or getting someone in wide right and playing Che with Keds until Sam is match sharp.
Only my opinion and i would be really happy if Harper saw this and went out and smashed a few goals in. He owes us a few.

Danny Kedwell a goal every 1.54 games Che Stadhart a goal every 3.57 games Martin Carthy a goal every 3.85 games Steve Harper a goal every 5.5 games Des Boateng a goal every 7.6 games Jamie Day a goal every 11 games Ellis Green a goal evey 14 games
Andrew Sam has 3 goals from 2 starts and several short sub appearances.
These wont be 100% accurate as some goals will have been scored off the bench and i cant be arsed to do a minutes on pitch/ goals ratio.

I would imagine the reason that "Adie sees Perkins as a centre half" is probably because he is a centre half and has been a pretty good one for most of this season. It is quite clearly his best position and he has been first choice in that position virtually all season.
Lewis has been missed in recent weeks but the problem for me is one of formation. There are two many strikers and not enough midfielders. Perhaps the arrival of Carpenter will help to rectify this problem but I think an orthodox 4-4-2 is the way forward with a proper midfield player occupying the wide left role. Then we can play with a partner alongside Kedwell rather than centre forwards having to play in wide areas.
Think we will beat Grays. Keds will be for it so will Carths and Adie will kick them all up the arris. Carpenter will see its one match away from a 2 legged semi final in the top cup comp in non league football. Wouldnt be surprised if we hammered Grays.
Mark i agree to a certain extent but Harps has missed an awful lot of chances to score, wouldnt you agree? Just think Sam is a better option.
i dont care who scores as long as they do and we win.
