i would find this a bit silly but not unexpected given some of the grants that seem to be given.

After all, helping two clubs with one lot of money would be too bloody sensible wouldn't it!

I cannot believe that there would be anything wrong with our application to the Football Foundation. I'd like to know the FFs reasons for uncertainty. I bet they've found some really petty problem with the application.

Anybody know when the FF paid out for the new stand?  I believe that if this was less than 3 calendar years ago that could well be the problem.

In which case time to pull the EB&Q being a separate entity to WUFC. I suspect we did not receive any money as part of that transaction.

Anyway, if that was the issue, could they have not said that 3 months ago instead of getting this far.

We had to pay towards eriths stand, So if what i read is true (We pay half and ff pay half for lights), then its only right and proper erith pay towards the lights.

Hope barrie has an ace up his sleeve cos this all go horribly wrong.

grant aid for non-League clubs is

subject to ceilings depending on the level of the

System a club has reached. Conference clubs

can apply for up to £400,000 every three years,

Level 2 clubs (feeders into the Conference)

£150,000 and Level 3, £100,000. For the first

time this year we have been able to offer

support to the next level of the structure, with a

£10,000 ceiling for clubs at Level 4.

We are, however, aware of the pressures

ground grading requirements are placing on

clubs, and look forward to these being

rationalised in the proposed restructuring of

the National League System

Why is the grant attributed to us??

Grant Total Cost
Welling United Football Club 250,000 505,162 New East Stand and Social Club

Do we own it or erith? As i said before , get Erith to stump up half then theres no probs.

Interesting quotes from leader of Dartford Council.... (Why are bexleys councillors a bunch of ****************************s??

But Jeremy Kite, the leader of Dartford Borough Council, who built Dartfords £6.5m Princes Park Stadium, believes the authorities are not helping the Kent clubs that need help.He says that the Football Foundation need to help Nationwide Conference South outfit Welling United with their newfloodlights and help Sittingbourne improve their pitch. He told www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk Can only agree with the comments about the pitch - the off-field facilities were ok but there seems to have been investment at Sittingbourne from people who clearly care about their club but all this seems to be out-of-balance when the pitch is so much in need of help.Cant blame Maidstone at all. This is not their permanent home so they would be foolish to pump cash into someone elses playing surface when they are saving to invest in their own. I know I have got a bit of a dower on the Football Foundation after their lamentable performance on Princes Park but surely heres what revenues from the richest game in the world should be doing? Interest free loan over twenty years for new floodlights at Park View Road NOW - not after 18 months of form-filling, political correctness measurement and photocopying and fifty grand for pitch improvements at Sittingbourne. Thats probably a minutes revenue from the nations beautiful game today - but it might just save a player from injury and encourage more families to attend.

We need to realise too we have well over 20k out of the FA Trophy this year add this to the fund raising we are doing, get the rest off Erith or get a premiership team down for a friendly, so even though it might not be great, we maybe should just get on with it and then try to appeal??

IF Erith dont stump up some cash , oppose their renewal of the sub lease, and if the FF attribute the new stand and previous grant to us maybe legally it is ours?

I heard that the reason for the refusal is that the work is considered to be a repair and not an improvement.

The argument is that it will be an improvement on the old system.

Not looking good though.

Obviously the Club since the Club haven't formally been given a decision we could speculate till the cows come home but it is all hot air till we get the decision.

Having said that, for me the acid test is does the proposal improve the facilities for players, officials and spectators (the Football Stadia Improvement Fund criteria) and anyone who has visited a night game at PVR could not fail to recognise that this would be the case.

'Sinking Fund' (the Football Foundation term for making provision for renewals and repairs), time limit, or whatever the case may be it looks as if the Club may well have a fight on their hands. If this turns out to be the case I wish Barrie well in his negotiations.
