JGFC : I am sorry to see you have signed off, you certainly livened up this Forum.
Strangely, despite what you said sometimes, you appeared to have the best intentions of Welling United at heart.
Bruno. Please continue this Forum during the Close Season as it brightens up all our lives and, most importantly, it keeps up to date as the Club Website is not up to speed with the latest news.
It promises to be a very interesting and ground breaking Close Season!
I know jgfc winds people up - but this board will be much the poorer without him. He provokes discussion and his view point, even if you don't agree, should be aired. There is obviously a history between him and some of the "in crowd" as he decribes them. I don't know what has happened and don't really care.
As time has gone on I can understand his view point much more. I agree about the commercial side of the club and worry about the ambition. JGFCs views represent, if not the majority, a sizeable minority of the supporters and it is right that he should be allowed to express it with the abuse that is directed at him (I was probably guilty of some in my time)
I hope that JGFC may change his mind and rejoin. I think the board will be much duller without him.
Bruno will keep his forum going , he has no reason not to.

IF Barrie sells up and i am still around, i will be back. The fans voices are silenced by embracing the self elected club sanctioned WSU and that just lets the club hide behind it all and keep taking from the fans. Who was it that called an association a PARASITE? how apt.
Right, I wasn't going to comment. But too much has gone on and been said for me not to. So here goes:
Have to agree with Andrew Nicholson. Bedford was tops - forgive me for sloping off early. What a nice club. It must be the weather what with all this shaking hands with oppo goalkeepers mullarkey - that's three now this Spring for different reasons!!
Firstly, I too worry about the club without Graham and what's going to happen. But I'm also not naive enough to see what having a different owner would bring to the club in an area already saturated with league clubs. Who's to say the situation under (a) different owner(s) would be any better?? Let's also not forget what a difficult season this was off the field. Was four months to replace floodlights really too long and so terrible?
It's clear Barry Wallace needs more support as Commercial Manager, and I sometimes think a team of about two more might help. I would immediately suggest going to an office supplies store in the High Street for a sponsorship deal to replace what's in the office now and consigning some of what's there presently to the Antiques Roadshow!!
Tom, just what is your beef with the WSU? In separate e-mails, the Auction of Promises was good, the Vets game with Charlton was an excellent idea, but at around the same time we were all generally rubbish (!!) The club needs an organisation. I was delighted when what we had (whatever it was called) merged with the official Supporters Association to have the WSU. I've only attended a handful of meetings, but can honestly say that those I attend with are the hardest working people I have ever come across anywhere. Rattling off a long list of potential events to all and sundry is really quite the emptiest exercise ever. Don't think that just because we haven't done all of what you suggested, that some haven't at least been considered. OK, perhaps we can update sites quicker and better and we'll learn from that. But the whole point about a WSU is you can turn up on a Thursday night and submit your views. I just think belittle well intentioned peoples' efforts is downright out of order. Our main problem operatively at the moment is trying to find more people to help out do what we're trying to achieve. So, again I ask you, what's the alternative?
Right, I'll have my worry beads at PVR tomorrow and be praying for miracles. I'll also have my season ticket money ready for 2007-08. Either way, sadly I'm driving tomorrow night but I will have my finery (hmm!) on for the Presentation Evening tomorrow night. Let's all hope that the Wings will be further bouyant (and shine better under new floodlights) in 2007-08.
Woah, a good post from someone connected to the WSU, forthright but not abusive and actually addressing some relevent points.
I aint going to have a slanging match (Where the TRUE anons join in and stir it), but would like to discuss, drop me an email when you get a minute mate
