IAN Selley has confirmed to News Shopper he is considering a move to Welling United.

The former Arsenal midfield star has just been released by Woking and has already spoken to his former colleague and new Wings boss Neil Smith about a switch to Park View Road.

Selley said: "I've discussed it with Smudger three or four times now and I'm waiting to hear back from him.

"I've had a few offers from elsewhere as well, so I'm going to have to weigh up all my options but the chance to work with Neil again definitely appeals to me."

The 32-year-old is currently completing his coaching badges and would be prepared to step down to a part-time playing role.

He explained: "It would be ideal because I want to set up a soccer school and only being involved with a club two or three days a week would make things easier.

"Welling are a part-time side, so they are a side I would have to consider very seriously.

"Even if it wasn't to happen this summer, there is no reason why it couldn't in the future."

Selley is convinced Smith can bring success to the Wings and is predicting great things from his former team mate.

He added: "He brings enthusiasm to the game and you can't help but pick up on it.

"Neil is a born winner and I'm sure Welling will be a force to be reckoned with next season."
