Leon has tilll the weekend to sign according to www.kentonline.co.uk

With Smudger saying he wants to sort his squad.

WELL DONE NEIL, I am starting to like this guy. When players like Ian Selley sign next week (if rumour is true) we will attract more quality. i wonder if Neil has a keeper lined up for the trials .

Its simple if you want to stay at Welling, commit and prove yourself and you may get a contract. Players like Mooro and Perks have said they want to stay, would have been nice if others did and put their cards on the table.

Hopefully neil has a few lined up then he can choose which of those who were umming and arring to release.

Well done Smudger!!

Something we have to remember guys...

NONE of the players would sign contracts for this year, Many have been talking to other clubs and only TWO Perks and Mooro of the quality players have committed. JT was trying to get with Maidstone and Tonbridge and went walk about last year for a few goals.

i wonder if James has given Neil a few videos from last season?

I hope Neil keeps 5 or 6 and shows the rest the door.

We need a Quality Keeper, A decent Rightback, A quality Striker

Keep Leon if he sorts his head, Mooro, Perks, Ellis, Andrew Sam , Des Boateng, Promote a couple from Kens 18s last year and bring the rest in. We could have a decent squad with Neils contacts.

Number one priority is a PROVEN scorer who will get 15-20, Andrew Sam may get them but he alongside a quality striker could be very exciting. We owe those who wouldnt sign NOTHING and those hawking themselves to other clubs NOTHING.

i hope Neil has looked at the match videos from last season.

Any one have any views? on who they would keep for deffo or should we keep them all even those trying to get away to lower clubs.

Mark ? Who would you keep if you had to keep 5 players from last year? Same to everyone.

As you asked here goes:-

Leon
Moore
Perkins
Green - who I think could be a really good player in time
JT as I don't think he is a bad keeper (ex keeper talking)

The as we are Welling we will need some players that don't cost a lot but will do the job

Squad of 20 for me BUT as we are looking at a reserve team then maybe we will have a few more nearly up to the standard

Andrew Sam I didn't think we ever saw the best of him - worth a punt

So as we have lost Keds, Daisy and Bruce then that might be about it

Looking to the future I think Selley IF he is 100% committed would be a great signing, I am still sure (and JGFC will no doubt say I am wrong) that Smudger has players up his sleeve that will be good for this side whether he has enough remains to be seen, We cannot compete with full time football BUT there are many good players who DON'T WANT full time football and we could/should get them

I will be interested to hear other views as to who should stay

Im not going to disagree that Smudger has players up his sleeve, If he didnt he would not have said to Leon you have till the weekend. I have some belief in Smudger, hes come in and hinted at no nonsense so we must give him a chance to show what hes about.

We almost agree on Players mark, i just left JT out as i have a problem with players trying to leave. I have slightly tempered it with Leon as he is quality and if we get him to sign i believe he will go on to better and we will benefit financially. JT is a reasonable keeper at this Level but If Neil brings in a Good one i wont cry if JT gets released after his activity in the close season.

I thought your post was an honest and decent one by the way. Would also love to see more views of whgo people would like to see stay if they had to pick 5.

My 5 are:-

Moore
Green
Perkins
Boatang
Sam

Plus if poss,

Mackie & Tucknott

Shame we lost out on Bruce as he was quality.

Would like Leon to stay, but he is without doubt the worse crosser of a ball i have ever seen

Ahh now you are talking

I thought Tucknott had loads of potential but he was a loanee so whether he wants/we want to stay at Welling is the thing

Mackie has been released and also could do a job

Des - Always gives 100% - Good enough???? I don't know

Oh and by the way I see what you mean about JT BUT I have no problem with players looking to play when things are uncertain, I do have a problem with players that just go for the money when it is a division or two below

To be honest I am struggling to find 5 players.

Green
Soloman
Perkins
Moore

erm..................

Sam could be a decent punt but I think you need to be physically strong in this league and his injury/illness record last year was not good. Similarly Tucknott and Mackie have skill but I'm not sure if they can handle the physical side of things. Some of the others will probably stay but I don't think I would lose any sleep over it if the rest of them all left.

Clearly we need players in all departments (forwards more than anything) and I hope Smudger also finds a left sided midfielder that this club has been lacking for ages.

Ive got no problem with players keeping their options open. With a new management team in place all the players must wonder if theyre going to be wanted next season.

I think JT is as good a goalkeeper in our division as any (also speaking as an ex goalie) and Id be sorry to see him go.

I would like to see Tucknott in a Wings shirt next year. I thought he got better with each game and has loads of potential - the pace will be wonderful coming of the bench when defenders are tiring. I share concerns about Boatang. Started the season well but wasn't able to maintain it which led to Ade putting him being on the bench for most of the season. Possibly a squad player but not to start.

Anyone know who the behing closed doors fixtures are against?

I see Jake Leberl a previous target is talking to AFC franchise imposters. He lives over shooters hill surely he should come to us than go to AFC?

If the supporters team get past the 1st round at World Net i would sign them all up.

This isnt good, and people are just getting more and more pi ssed off a the lack of communication AND players. We've missed the boat on many. I find it absolutely amazing at the NO NEWS coming out of PVR.
