Agreed but isnt it usually in Mickey Mouse Cups. Friendlies are fine but i was just windering what are the rules about ex players or supporters. We used to get Andy Legg too and he was a behind the goal fan.

I have in the past refereed the wings many times be it in league or cup fixtures, and to be honest when im out in the middle i can assure you that their is no bias its just 2 colours Vs each other...We do however have to inform the FA of any teams that we have been associated with so if they do appoint us to these games they are aware beforehand.... One game that does come to mind though was a fixture Vs Chelmsford at PVR in the Paul Parker days when there was a little bit of rivalry between the clubs..On presenting the team sheets before the game The CCFC secreatery(Dave) showed me his match confirmation which included a photo of the 85/86 championship winning team with me on it...his comment(with a smile) was that "youve lost a bit of hair since then"...The wings won the game 1-0 and i turned down an appeal for a Chelmsford penalty but to his credit the secretary complimented me on my performance and said that he had no complaints.....Re the pre season fixures(we cant call them friendlies) these are sometimes FA apointed where full match fees & expenses are paid but Re the Wings i have been sorting out the match officials, thanks to Barrie for the last 4 years now, which means that i can call on local officials to cut out travel expenses....re the Charlton game,Steve Bennet was indeed going to ref it,as he did a couple of years ago,but due to the flooding in certain parts of the country, the Premier league referees training week was put back a week which meant that he had to attend that....He has assured me that he would love to do it next season if poss....Hope this clears your questions up and enjoy the season ahead.....now the bad news...im reffing the game V Ebbsfleet tommorow...Cheers...Referian
You had a good game so look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Steve Bennett was at Bromley on Saturday. Missed a clear penalty for Palace - and I didn't care who won.
