Rob Gier scored, We have signed 3 players and scrapped the reserve team due to "the structure of the league" Hmmmmmm what about the suburban or something similar?

BUT we are planning reserve team friendlies LMFAO how can you just have a reserve team for a few games a season, you either have a reserve team or not!

All on official site. Just say we will be having practice matches using the squad and youth team, although this years 18s are crap and last years have all left... so not many if any of them will be good enough...

Hopefully Neil will have a reserve team in place and set up for next year early as this whole reserve thing has been a shambles!!

One good thing... Neil seems to have a squad in place now with the majority getting a second game, add a few of them signing and a new striker and its the basis of a solid side. Michael Johnson is about 25 and played for Woking, Gier has a trial at Bristol Rovers but played again so we may be lucky and get him and the sqaud as plenty of experience at a higher level, more so than before?

Jamie's comments on the Kentishfootball site are promising. We have a bit of continuity, (No Sonny Ball or Leon though??) .At least we never saw another 15 players, So the trials Neil held have produced the necleus of the side HOPEFULLY and its not a case of finding bodies for friendlies.

I think we all want a known striker, If Lloyd had banged a couple in we may have thought hes the one, sadly he doesnt seem a finisher and we desperately want an out and out hitman who will put them away.

I am sure Neil isnt thick and will realise this. i wonder if the lad from Millwall will come off, Who is Joshua Powell or R Martin? Anyone know?

We seem to have a few center halfs, No Leon today? Is he still here or will Neil play Adam Cotterill (sp?) Right back and Robbie Ryan left back? Midfield looks covered if Mouko signs just upfront needs sorting and some spare bodies.

Im feeling very positive and if Neil signs a striker of note who can be relied on to bang 15-20 goals or more away at this level we could have the best side we have had for years. Would like to see Neil and Nethercott get a few minutes under their belt as we may need their experience early on as we settle.

Sad news about the ressies but a few Welling X1 vs other teams will help fitnes for fringe players and neil to look at a few trialists who have been cold shouldered elsewhere during season.

I take back what i said about JT as he says he didnt know what was happening and his heart is at Welling. I can understand that now that hes signed for us.

I worry about our youth set up now that last years 18s have effectively been binned, We had some players there who could have been in the squad on buttons or loaned out. I hope neil will contact Adie and Ken to see if any are worth keeping.

Adie seemed to think a couple were. Lets hope that we can get a few decent results in the next few games then look solid against the West Ham team and what appears to be the Gills first team according to their site " the Gills finish pre season by visiting Welling united managed by Ex Gill Neil Smith"

COME ON YOU WINGS

Leon is injured but was at the game apparently

Jamie Turners piece I think was good but I agree we need a striker or two

We have to be sure that Neil will deliver

As for new names - It is going to take a couple of weeks to get used to all the new players again!!

Defense I think will be solid - It is creativity and scoring however that wins games - We will have to see what transpires
