Was quite impressed by the new lights for the Ebbsfleet game. Once they were up to full steam they did a very good job with no shadows and illuminated the corners as well.
One things puzzles me though, the lights over the new stand were not on. Are these now deemed to be EB&Q's or will we have the lot on in the depth of winter. If its the former will they "rent" our new ones on the other side?
One of the "old" ones came on briefly during the Charlton game so they still work.
Having 5 lights on one side and only two on the other is a bit lopsided.
I would think the sensible thing to do would be to take the "old" one nearest the road down and relocate it to the centre of the other side. Keep the "old" one in the centre of the Erith side and remove the "old" one nearest the park. That way the centre of the pitch would be better illuminated.
I thought during the Charlton game that the middle of the pitch looked a bit dark.
My understanding from Barrie is that the old lights are redundant and if I recall correctly will be removed from roof level upwards. The configuration of the 4 corner lights will give better illumination than the old system.
Can't say I noticed that the middle of the pitch was badly illuminated at the Charlton game but that again as I understand it was their first dusk/darkness use and therefore there may well have been minor adjustments made since then.
