I felt we should have keep Goodfellow, his performances towards the end of the season were alright. Where did he end up?

Can't agree with that I'm afraid.

Nice bloke by all accounts and did a good job with the U18's in the Cray match but Bruce showed just how far short of a decent right back at this level he is and he didn't really impress when he played elsewhere.

Agreed

He never looked like a right back to me - always looked like a not very good centre half!!

Lets hope for another decent 'money' day tomorrow and then get behind the lads when the season starts!!

This is where Neil can take this club forward.

Our under 18s under Ken last year were getting good reviews and had some decent prospects, we appeared to cack all over ken and the side is now gone, just when we looked to be bringing the next billy burgess and paul lorraines through. If we had a good youth team and not an "i want the boys to enjoy their football" (c) G Lisney. Then we could find our own right back as we have before. Theres a certain fullback at Liverpool for proof of this!

This years 18s wont be pulling up many trees, lets hope Neil or Stuart get a hands on few weeks and attract some players to the top level of our youth system for the future. And we dont lose them all in one fell swoop like this year after treating them like crap.

Its been tough for Neil losing most of the squad, but towards the end of last season they showed they were not good enough to get us promoted, I think we will only miss Keds ,and it will be a big miss but we have lost better strikers before [Abbo ,Barts and Robbins]and managed to replacr them.

CJ

Omari and Andrew Sam MAY score goals, the other two Blankman and Harper wont. So as it stands we havent replaced Keds .. or Che... or battersby ... etc etc

We have a couple of players who might score a few. Neil hasnt gone and got ONE striker who WILL score. And people have to remember that to be the case. He seems to have brought some good players in elsewhere so hes not done terribly he just hasnt got us a striker.... yet

Quick catch up on last season's U18's.

Ken has been appointed Kent County U16's Manager.

With regard to players as far as I know:
4 players (Ian, Mark, Matt V, and Ed) and possibly Jordan are in the Tonbridge Angels U18 Ryman Youth/Reserve squad with Ian Brooke having made his debut for the Reserves in their psf against Dartford.

3 players (Chris P, Josh and Joe) are at Erith Town U18/reserves.

1 player (Matt S) has gone to Dulwich Hamlet.

Rishi, Gabriel, Chris D, Charlie, Jack, Dan, Joel, Ollie - I await with some interest to see where they turn up.

He may have been awful but hes better than Harper! and Blankman and scored more! and has at least scored 15 in the conference in the past! and on that note we havent replaced him, let alone Keds!

What greatly concerns me is that our coaching staff cant coach strikers to get better. Perhaps we should get Gary Abbott down to a few training sessions to work with the strikers.

He maybe able to get them going and his experience at least for Omari and Andrew will help. But do it before the season starts.

Neil ask barrie for Abbos number.

The past players mentioned are Welling legends and the yardsticks by which existing and future players are measured by many fans.  Its the acheivements of these past players that new members of the squad should aspire to emulate and even surpass earning themselves the legend tag in the process.
