I suspect this may be Nicky Ward ex TNS an attack minded defender (who has also been used as a striker) with 48 goals in 146 odd appearances. He only made 10 appearances in 2006/7 but did get 8 goals. I know he was released in the summer and was on trial at Cambridge United. Can anyone confirm?

hes not a defender, hes a forward who can play left wing, and was occasionally asked to play left back, and he scored 15 in 22 for TNS last season..also he wasnt released, he chose not to resign, as he moved to london, playing for a welsh team while living in london would be pretty difficult.
I think you will find that he was released, certainly that is the view of TNS and the Welsh Premier League sites. Whatever the case he was available, impressed Neil Smith and became a Welling United player. Hopefully he will replicate or better last season's performance.
