Not slagging the manager, look at the facts. Manager have gone for less. Why not post your views and some reasons of why he will turn it around, Weve had and easy start and they are his players.

I think sacking the manager after a few games will look like desperation. It doesn't look like our aspirations for this year should be very high but I feel the group of players we have should avoid the drop!! It certainley doesn't feel as desperate as the Paul Parker months. We have played well at times and it has certainley been nicer on the eye than under Ade.
The team have only been together for a very short while and they've started to play some entertaining football.
Yes we need to stop shipping goals though and I agree we need someone in midfield who can control things when Richard Carpenter isn't playing.
If we can't make the play-offs this year I'd be happy to see us win one of the cups. It's been too long without a trophy. Realistically we could win the Kent Cup every year if we put out a full team.
I think that you have to give Neil a chance to prove himself one way or another. It's still early days yet and the team still haven't gelled together, so let's get behind him and the team.
We aint gonna score many goals are we. Lets be honest. JT was huge in our only win this season...But has cost us points before and since. We NEED a goal scorer to put the finish to some very good play. I feel for Neil Smith. He has a good talented squad but cant get the final piece to the jigsaw in place. Most of the football under Ade was route 1 and at times not pretty at all. But it got results. We all came away from games last season thinking "How the f##k did we win that game. We watched teams knock the ball around us but we ended up with all the points. The boot is on the other foot now. Some how we will have to strike a balance and sometimes that means winning UGLY. Last year we had the Alan Shearer of Non league football...Danny Kedwell. By this stage of the season last year he must of had 5 goals to his name. (guessing). None of our forwards will score that all year. Neil.... Find a 20 goal a year man....pronto. Give JT a boot up the Arsenal double pronto.
Aderly - You state that none of our forwards will score 5 goals all year. You seem to have overlooked the fact that Omari Coleman has already scored 3 goals. As suggested by many fans on this Forum, Neil Smith should have signed a proven goalscorer not Lloyd Blackman who goalscoring record is appalling.
Of course it is far too early to even contemplate a change of manager. I think the club saw the (relative) success of Adrain Pennock and have gone for a manager along the same lines - good career in league football, young, enthusiastic, first managerial job etc...etc...
Having spoken to Neil Smith on a couple of occasions I would say that he is working hard to try and get things right and he will do his best to juggle the resources around to try and get a winning team together. Personally I feel he has to decide whether to play week in week out or not to play at all as the current half and half arrangement might make life very difficult..........
I'm not sure that the comparison with Ade is that valid. Ade had over a years experience as Assistant Manager at G&N, now Ebbsfleet United, had also been the U19 coach and was offered the Manager post which he turned down because he had just committed to Welling. He brought with him Phil Handford who had a wealth of experience as an Assistant Manager/coach with Kent sides which (together with the added benefit of continuity) is why he was probably the number 1 target when Ade left.
Ade and Phil success was built upon their man management skills, their experience and knowledge of Kent non league football and their established network of contacts, all of which are critical when you are working on a limited budget.
As far as Neil playing goes I'm not in favour of player/managers full stop.

need a coach who can make decisions himself without checking the problem we hav is a manager and coach with no experience compared to before when it was a manager with no experience
I feel Neil deserves a chance to turn things around but there must be a time limit and I would suggest like others the end of October otherwise we will be too far behind the pack to make anything of it. Already I am back in the old mould of knowing that this will be a season of walking down the road on Sat hoping for a draw at most against Bath. Last season I felt we were getting somewhere and a spring in my step thinking we were as good as anyone we were about to face
I have previously said I was not in favour of player managers. They have never worked at PVR ala Terry Robbins and Kevin Hales. To be honest when I have watched Neil when he has been on the pitch he has been no revalation and I get the impression that like Chip he would struggle over a consistent 90 mins, particlurily doing both roles. I would like Chip to be there but I look at Mooro with his heart pumping out of his chest everytime he comes back from a corner and dont know if he can manage that all season. Lets hope they both can.
I kind of get the impression that Neil is resisting the temptation to hang his boots up. He needs to make this choice sooner or later as we have not seen much of Stuart Nethercott making as much of an appearance. I would sooner Neil concentrated on being a manager as arriving on the pitch to conduct a pointy dance is doing no one any favours.

Mustard will get goals have no fear. JT Has had goalkeeping coaches in Vince Bartram and Paul Hyde, now he has no one. Who is our fitness coach?? Richardson from Dagenham? I think theres every chance fo coleman scoing 15 and Welling finishing bottom 6.
Find some players? Yes please but no more "mates of neils whove underperformed elsewhere" Neil hasnt got the contacts to bring people in.
I personally feel the players Neil have signed (as a unit) are more than good enough to challenge for promotion, notwithstanding 2 or 3 crap signings. He needs to have a serious look at himself and gee them up, Maybe Neil needs to go Bootcamp at one of his old clubs training for a week to get some tips.
He needs to get Chippy and Mooro to galvanise the troops and he needs to sort out JT, maybe hes just in it for the money (JT) after all he was talking to lower league clubs. Or maybe hes playing on his xbox too much or going on the booze?

At risk of causing my second uproar of this session - I cannot for the life of me see how you can comment on anyones performance when you haven't seen them
JGFC if you had read last weeks programme you would have read an interview with JT and known that he does have a coach. Come to a game mate and then you might be able to talk some sense on this forum.
