It would appear he is out of favour. I would have him before Smith any day. Neil needs to concentrate on management - he hasn't made a great start and it is hard enough being a new manager let alone a player/manager.
How can he be out of favour, he has clearly been our BEST midfield player or am I watching a different game to our clueless manager!!? I fear we may lose him as we did Keds and Daisy with league clubs said to be showing interest...
Ill tell you why he isn't playing, because our manager hasn't got a ******g clue! I dont think Barrie will be to happy either as these type of players are rare and can earn the club valuable money as Keds did in the summer
I THOUGHT THAT NEIL SMITH GOT IT BADLY WRONG IN HIS TEAM SELECTION YESTERDAY. HOW CAN HE PLAY HIMSELF AND CARPENTER (A TOTAL AGE OF 70 YEARS) IN MIDFIELD FOR THE WHOLE GAME, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE LEGS ANYMORE. I THOUGHT THAT BOTH PLAYERS HAD A POOR GAME THROUGHOUT. NEIL WOULD BE MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE ON THE TOUCHLINE AS I DO NOT AGREE WITH THE IDEA OF PLAYER/MANAGERS, IT DOES NOT WORK. HOW CAN HE POSSIBLY LEAVE SAM KEEVIL ON THE BENCH AS I BELIEVE THAT HE HAS BEEN THE MOST CONSISTENT PLAYER THIS SEASON (TOGETHER WITH CHRIS MOORE). CREDIT IS DUE TO NEIL THOUGH AS HE HAD THE GUTS TO DROP JAMIE TURNER BUT IF FEEL THAT IF HE CONTINUED TO PLAY HIM THEN NEIL WOULD BE LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB BY THE END OF OCTOBER. VERY IMPRESSED BY CLARK MASTERS, A GREAT DEBUT AND HE GAVE OUR DEFENCE A LOT OF CONFIDENCE WITH HIS DISPLAY. I ALSO FEEL THAT MICHAEL JOHNSON SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHOSEN INSTEAD OF BLACKMAN WHO DOES NOT IMPRESS ME EVEN AS A MIDFIELDER. FINALLY, I THOUGHT THAT WE GOT OUT OF JAIL WITH THE LATE GOAL AS WE WERE DEFINITELY SECOND BEST ON THE DAY.
Rumour is that he wasnt doing what was asked v dorch and was told at half time he still didnt do it the next 15mins after HT and was subbed and hasnt played since god the worrying thing is that if sam wasnt doing what he was asked I cant believe that Blackman is and he is still playing!!!
I would love to know what he was asked to do at half time spud because was that first half against Dorch not some of the best football we have played all season!!! I agree with john c, Keevil, Moore and Coleman have been our best and most consistent players. I just feel that we have really missed his quality in the middle of the park at Thurrock and yesterday, and if I was him I wouldn't be best pleased. Blackman, Smith, Maxwell, are these players more deserving of a shirt.........? Sorry Neil I think not!
Keivel is an awesome footballer with a range of passing fit for the football league. I know barry well and Im sure he would tell you the same. As said before on this site, he to reminds me of a certain Jamie Day and should walk into our side with his hands on his head.
I said he was without doubt a good footballer and equally I have absolutely no doubt that Barry would say the same about his footballing ability. The clue is in the 180 minutes!
