Just to clear up, a lot of people were wondering why Sam Keevil was left out Saturday. I spoke to Sam Saturday and he told me he has a minor knee injury and will hopefully be fit within 1 - 2 weeks. I for one feel that we do miss him when he doesn't play.
People wouldn't have been making those comments if the Club didn't act like secret squirrel and kept the fans informed of what was going on.
The background facts to Keevil are that to my knowledge had played for 13 Clubs, possibly more, since Feb 2001 before he signed for Welling in the summer of 2007. He was told to leave E&B after 3 weeks with the comment "He thought he was bigger than the club, and weve let him go to pastures green" from their manager.
When he was one player who was playing well in the opinion of many fans (some of whom may well be aware of his history) yet got benched with the manager taking his place is speculation that surprising?
Like it or not Mark, I have heard that there is dissent in the dressing room and not just from comments made on the forum.

As I mentioned on a previous thread, the celebrations for Coleman's goal on Saturday were a trifle muted.
Blackman was the first to congratulate him and wasn't exactly racing to do it. Carpenter was next as would be expected by the captain of the side. Third was Quintyne, a new guy and that was it.
If that'd been last year, the whole team would have smothered him, including JT.
It doesn't look as if there's a lot of camaraderie out there and that doesn't bode well.
I would love to know where you get this information from Bruno, are you a secret mole in the dressing room? And how do you know there is a problem in the dressing room!? Getting back to football, Sam has been our best central midfielder this season and should walk into our side. I couldn't give a **** about his past, good enough then play!
Alan We had the same scenario under Parker, with players only celebrating the goals scored by their mates. I only hope we're not going down that road again.

I wouldn't be allowed anywhere near the dressing room.
The answer you seek is not rocket science and applies in all walks of life - research and networking. The world of players, particularly at our level and around it, is a relatively small one. Sometimes what you pick up proves to be rumour (often based upon fact), sometimes straight facts. I'm sure there are others out there who know much more than they let on.
The frustrating thing is that are are things you pick up in confidence relating to particular players/situations 'straight from the horses mouth' which you would dearly love to impart but it is privileged information which if they wanted it to be public they would make it so themselves.
Information which is widespread hardly falls into the privileged information category but even so I would not divulge where I picked it up without the express consent of the provider.
As far as Sam Keevil goes all the while he is contracted and playing well I agree he should be playing with the rider which is applicable to the whole squad and that is that Neil obviously has to maintain discipline within the squad and if any player is benched in connection with that responsibility I would back Neil to the hilt.

It sounds like there are problems in the dressing room then or am I reading into that post too much? - and Bruno is right even if if it was Man U and Ferguson left out Ronaldo for discipline reasons people would support him so if this is the case with Neil then he should be backed as well
So what you are saying is that Sam was left out at Thurrock when we were awlful due to being disciplined. I feel he was left out because the manager who happens to play in his position fancied a game, and by god did it backfire on him. Bruno, can you tell us why he is being disciplined?
Lets be clear what I was said was that while he is contracted and playing well he should be playing. I should also have added is fit.
The supplementary clause (rider) about internal discipline, which I expressly made clear applied to any player, was intended to indicate that there was a situation in which a player was benched despite playing well when I would support to the hilt Neil's decision not to play them. I do not know if this was the case nor did I say it was.
