It's been said before and it's a bit off the manager topic but why can't the club put crappy tin roofs over both ends to help generate a bit of atmosphere - it would be cheap enough
I think they have left the ends uncovered so that if it rains people either get wet or pay extra to sit in the stands. Anyway, no noise under a roof is the same as no noise without a roof. It might make the boos sem louder at the end though.
As far as I am aware. If you cover an end you have to cover all of it, otherwise the capacity for that terrace would be limited to the number of people that could fit under the cover. So if it was only part covered you would lower the ground capacity.
As for the cost, we would not be allowed to put up something like the old Cowshed that stood where the Erith clubhouse now stands, As it would not meet current Health & Safety requirements. There are also environmental Regulations in place for rainwater coming of the roof, which would most probably have to be stored for pitch watering. So putting up a few sheets of corrugated Iron held up with Dexion wouldnt go down very well with the league or the council. It is not a cheap option by a long chalk. Best option is to invest in a brolly

very funny. but seriously if anyone ever does start to sing the sound goes nowhere - a crappy tin roof like woking or dorchester have will help as if people sing and the sound bounces back and then more people will join in
if that last message sounded rude it didn't mean to! and fair enough i suppose but im sure it could be looked into and im not bothered about getting wet but maybe even just at the park end - i still think would be a good idea
I'm taking a risk with this reply,of someone coming in with a smartarse response.But a covered end is/was on the list of the WSU. It is however a sizeable chunk of dosh to find,so it won't happen overnight.

It aint happened in a few years and no fund or one of those themometer targets have been set up. Dont hold your breath, i dont think its even on their agenda, certainly never been spoke about in the open.... yet but on WIE its part of their mission statement from their launch.
