First half poor. JT scared the pants off me from the first minute when he came out of his goal and was beaten near the touch line - luckily their player fell over when he went to shoot. First goal was a mess. Sinclair missed a header from a long ball leaving the striker with a simple job to lob Turner who was on the edge of the 18 yard box. Not sure if he was out of position or was there to be avaible for Sinclair to head back to him. Anyway - defensive errors meant 1-0 down. Coleman scored a great equaliser out of nothing. Missed their second as I went to the loo. Apparantly poor defending from a corner. We were lucky to be only one goal down at half time.
Second half we did everything but score. Ellis came on and did well. I can't remember the last time I have seen such a one sided half - despite loads of chances we faied to score.
Whilst we were good in the second half - this just isn't good enough. The match lasts 90 minutes and we rarely perform well for the whole game. We have the ability but something is wrong. We are now sitting just outside the relegatins positions and I can't see it improving. Very suprised that Coleman was taken off and replaced by Blackman. Sawyer came on for the last few minutes so unable to judge him. He is not tall so won't be able to produce the type of play we had with Montague.
Wrong appointment in Smith, cheap easy option, inexperienced. took too long getting a squad together and still trying, losing to teams struggling with alarming regularity.
Sorry but we are in the deep brown stuff but the club dont care, they appointed him. Negative?? Hard to be positive isnt it? We (the club) hired him!

Its all very well Smith going now... but we will just get another weak yes man, inexperienced who wont rock the boat. We will be going round in circles in my opinion.

yep, I agree, getting rid of manager may be the obvious reaction but recent history dictates that we would likely get someone else who won't be much cop either. Lack of goals is clearly the main problem, if we were banging them in then the defence would not have as much pressure on it - simple eh?!
Lets see, Won a league of this standard, Knows the kent scene, respected. Im not saying get him BUT when these people apply why do we always choose the least qualified. No ambition? Scared of a experienced manager demanding backing in all senses of the word ? Comfort Zone? unable to explain no ressies, poor training facilities, small budget, low wage for manager?
When Braintree sacked Gorgeous George, it is rumoured that all sorts applied but they went for a boss of East Thurrock! Is a experienced manger out of our league?
You tell me? Catch 22 for me , all the time we are a closed shop off the park and woeful commercially we couldnt support a decent manager?
Simple answer, shape up off the pitch and attract better staff, then we are back in a big circle and you have to chew over the views that Stafford has posted and see where you stand on the issue.
Maybe Smith will go and Barry will take over.
