Cutting through the chase. We now sit very close to the drop zone. This season can in no way be deemed acceptable or a success , so while our manager sticks his head in the sand...
How long has Neil got to string some wins together and improve performances. If all he has got is a revolving door to bring in and kick out players every few games, what is going to change?
Is it getting near the time we should be looking at other managers and holding prelim talks so that we can move on when the inevitable happens and Smith goes?

I don't think it's inevitable - let's see what happens in the derby(as close as can get at mo) game on sat
I still want Smith to stay and at least see out the whole season - I still think given another year in charge he can learn from his mistakes and make a good go of it next year
you have to give him a chance... he took over a squad that has lost its 2 best players for the past 3 years & also is replacing a manager that performed miricles in the past years & has gone to tro much bigger & better things.
Neil is finding it a bit touch at the moment, but is a strong man & a battler..
give him a chance & he will turn this around.
ask you self this: what did you expect from this season last may once the manager, day & kedwell left???
I think the biggest problem was pre seaseon, we did not act quick enough to get people signed. I know that players wont commit but its the same for every manager.
Personally I think he has got to Christmas, but then again it depends on the clubs expectations, if its survival then he is doing the job correctly as I dont think we will be in a relegation dogfight....now where did I put that rabbits foot
It looks to me that he has got until Christmas at least. If the club were going to get rid of him they have enough grounds already.
I really can't see how people can be saying that we will not be challenging this year and in fact finish in the lower half and then give him another go next year. What evidence is this based on. Took a side on the verge of the play offs for two seasons and then under his mangement finished in the lower half, possibly flirting with relegation, (which we are now) and then you let him have another go. Neil should only be here next season if we see a considerable improvement and a steady climb up the table. We need to be well in the top half at the end of the season to justify him having another go. Ohterwise this time next year we will be looking to get rid of him and have somebody else coming in to pick up the mess with his players.
I know we lost Kedwell and Day - but clubs at this level will always lose their best players and the manager needs to manage this. We have lost many good players in the past and then pushed on - as have many other clubs at this level. You can't use that as an excuse.

I expected a manager with some kind of track record and qualification to be good enough. I expected a squad in place for the first game of the season and players that went replaced as near as could be. I expected to beat the teams who struggle every year to show we could at least compete. I expected the Manager to sort any problems.
We have heard nothing off the owners, smacking that this is acceptable. All we get is neil saying hes on it and looking at players.
i expected a LOT better or if it went wrong, swift changes to rectify it.

Basically I think he should be manager in a years time- he f*cked up pre-season as people have said as he didn't get the players in. But all of our best players left but I feel he is being compared to Ade too much - he is on a steep learning curve and we'll prob finish bottom half but what's the point of sacking him and then getting someone new in who will go through the exact same motions and everyone will be saying sack the new guy?
I feel in football you do have to give new managers some time - he's had the batism of fire so far and come pre-season next year he wouldn't make the same mistakes again.
I know hardly anyone agrees with me but I still have a good feeling about Smith and really believe with more time he will come good
PVR is like a revolving door, he put his mate Blackman on a contract, i mean is he stevie wonder? He never signed anyine for ages? HE NEVER INHERITED any team its his , he signed them all. Two other things, the results and the league table. Oh and the reserves if you can call it that... SHAMBLES...

I think he must be a gynacologist the amount he has head up the clubs......
From someone who used to slate them to someone who never slags off the running of the club and jumps on people who do. How sad someone behaves like this and has no opinion other than the club is great and being run well.

Lose to Bromley and hes gone for me. We cant keep losing to team we should beat if we want to be where we should be. Its November and things have got worse results wise. No FA Cup and hovering above relegation. Beat bromley or he should be sacked or we are only letting things get worse. Anyone seen any interviews from Neil?

Give Neil a chance...OK, he's been here for a while and SHOULD have done better in the close season. But lets be honest here, if players are out there wanting to make a move, could you blame them for not coming to PVR? It appears that the whole structure of the club isn't the best in the league. Even lower divisions are paying better wages than us, so why should decent players want to come to us?
Why are you so negative? From what I read on here you never even turn up for a game? So how can you comment on anything? You are admin on this forum right? But you never come to a game and are always negative about the team, manager and club. You even advertise other teams on a Welling United Fans Forum wasn't it Hornchurch the other week? I think you should jackin the your admin post and let a true fan run this forum.
