and the picture is of that all time Wings legend Sir Lloyd Blackman flying in to give us the lead tonight.
Peter in the shop - do a limited run of maybe 50. Flog them on at £20 a go. Will probably sell out within a day of release and a very nice profit for the club.
Expect them to be selling on e-bay for at least 10 times their original value within a week.
I doubt it jgfc- it all happened so quickly. For the hour before the incident there was absolutely no indication that this might happen - nothing for the hour after either come to that. But suddenly a cross from the left and there was Lloyd diving in to score. We couldn't have predicted it - people would have been too shocked to think about reaching for the camera to get the celebration. I did look to see if the game was been filmed but sadly, no. The goal will live in the memories of the few who were there and the rest of you will never know what you missed.
so did I actually and I wasn't sure if the defender got a touch as well - but I was in the E&B stand at the other end so gave him the benefit of the doubt.
The great Sir Lloyd threw himself majestically forward, past the defender, too quick for the keeper, and BANG; the duck is broken, the goose is throttled and the lizard has been well and truely drained.
No worry that the most significant incident in the history of our beloved club has not been captured on digital for posteriry: we shall remember, and on nights when the wind screams and the cold scars our bones we shall recall this moment and be warmed by the glow of its glory.
Suggestion for the shop:
How about the t-shirt with just a picture of Sir Lloyd smiling at his subjects. Logo could be "Welling Legend"
or maybe someone could have a better idea (clean suggestions only)
