i think the next manager should be an ex-welling player who is a manager somewhere else like Paul Gorman Erith & Belvedere.

When we are away i watch erith. They play good football and Pauls always encouraging is players to get the best out of them and they respond.he took them from  4th bottom to 5th in is first season and they are 6th with games in hand...Paul Gorman my choice

There may be somone with the necessary who has retired but is prepared to come in as caretaker. Someone like perhaps Chris Kinnear?

I was being sarcastic mate.

NO Ex Players
NO Virgin Managers
NO Caretaker Managers

Advetise on the main site, in the sporting press and with the FA for a Manager, you would be surprised who will apply.

Well I doubt that anyone is lined up for the job so no caretaker = Neil for the forseeable future unless he walks.

Only Neil knows the answer to that one at the moment and he is going to be gutted after today's result especially since he has gone on record as saying "Wealdstone may be coming into this game thinking they have got the upper hand, but we will be more than ready for them and will be looking to progress into the next round and build on the result." (Bexley Times)

I await his post match comments with interest.

After the Maidenhead game Neil Smith mentioned in his comments after the match, how important for the club a good run in the Trophy was.  He said it on more than one occasion.  I took this to mean money is needed, before he can strenghthen the (what is now looking like a very lightweight and disinterested) squad.  If he hasn`t got any money to spend and he is now running out of the amount of loanees he can bring,we`re doomed.  This group of players really needs to start putting their backs into it.  Where`s their get up and go. Just watch their body language when they concede a goal.  It doesn`t fill me with hope I can tell you.  If Neil Smith doesn`t manage to get these players to win the next game then he`s toast (or should be). And take that waste of space Nethecott with him.  But who comes in to replace him?

I agree JGFC.  Look at Peter Taylor going to Stevenage.  We could get some quality former league managers applying (as long as it's not McLaren).

I would love to have got Peter Taylor here as manager. I think the bloke is quality and Palace will rue the day they got rid of him.

He did a good job as caretaker manager for England a while back and I'd be prepared to give him the job now. I'd prefer him to any Johnny Foreigner anyway.
