A decent individual performance by Remy - I dont think so, he was clueless and clearly is not very talented! Granted he wasnt helped by Ademayo (no 10) who was dire but Remy never looked like he was going to even keep the ball let alone do anything with it!
Worse Welling performance in all my 20odd years at PVR - Fisher were an average team who were made to look good! No one on the Wings side could walk off that pitch with their head even remotely held high except Jamie Turner we should have lost by 4 or 5!
Sending off was a touch harsh but the ref had lost the game by then.
Smith has no clue, and is clearly a poor manager who should have gone a while ago before he manages to slip us into the bottom 3
Notable was Chippy being screamed at by him during the first half and Chippy shouting back at him as if to say what are you talking about.
Lightweight team, worst performance ever, poor refereeing but thats no excuse for a truely dire performance
Pull the trigger now Barry and Barrie or watch the Titanic sink
The moment that sums up this season for me was in the 1st half when Neil shouted "Oi Ellis, get over here" and both Messrs Green and Remy ran to the left touchline!! Clueless, but funny!
Was prepared to give Smith time but it's time up now, should he go this week how ironic that one of his last acts was to elbow an opposition player and leave him needing treatment.
But what poor sod will WANT to come in and sort this mess out??
Can someone please inform me who the no.8 was yesterday, and where did Neil find him from! Was it Boyce as mentioned on main site? He looked like he was lost on the pitch and I felt sorry for the guy. Clearly out of his depth I feel!
Matt Whoever it is needs to have had at least a reasonable degree of success as a manager and have an extensive knowledge of and contacts in the Kent/SE football scene.
A new name into the pot could perhaps be Andy Hessenthaler.

Adie was on pennies, Parker was on pennies . Its run like a sunday league team and has been since it was a sunday league team!!. Parker paid the players himself from his wages, He also brought money in from outside of the club. Then when he goes the club say he was spending 6k plus on wages!!! A nice little fall back for when you have a cup run and when its £100k plus... NICE! thats that covered, ooh exactly 100k in debt were we... Dont forget that in the last couple of seasons.....the players werent even paid for a period of time!! they had to wait! OK but where the hell has the money from Paul Booth and James Smith gone? not on any signings! Did you know we got money for John Guest from Dartford! Amazingly we did. So if Dover, Dartford and AFC Wimbledon, Hornchurch, Chelmsford and many other teams can buy players... WHY THE HELL CANT WE WHEN WE SELL PLAYERS FOR CASH!!!! Kedwell too.
because that money just dissapears!! Still, you can always buy an advanced season ticket for next year chaps! Why do you think Erith have been allowed to stay at PVR and then improve their long term lease??
Its the clubs owner that takes the pi ss out of the fans, by always doing something on the cheap and taking from the club. As ive said before, you can slag off Neil but who appointed him and who will appoint the next manager with the aim of not being successful and paying pennies. But if they are succesful you can always claim the cup money goes on some debts no one knew about and then cut the budget in the play offs!!!!

The reason Neil was appointed , and the reason he is not sacked is because the club do not want promotion or for the fans to want promotion. They just want money.

Ade was, and still is, a man on a mission, prepared to make sacrifices in the pursuit of his goal. I can only liken his time at PVR to an apprenticeship - paid a pittance and take all the ****.
Welling was just a hobby for Parker and he put as much or as little time and effort into it as his other commitments allowed.

Bruno with all due respect that bollocks, parker couldnt sleep he worked his balls off, he was crap but he still worked his balls off and he paid some of his wages to bring players in. He along with Adie travelled all over the gaff looking at players out of his own pocket.

JgFc, Not knowing the man I can only judge on what I observed and read and the level of other business/employment interests would seem to indicate that there was very little left for Welling.
You obviously had some contact, direct or otherwise, and I am quite prepared to accept that my view is ill informed. However that being the case I really can't understand why with his contacts what you have said never reached the public domain.

The one thing Ade did do on more on one occasion was to get a message out. We had his piece about the day in the life of a non league manager and the infamous peanuts statement which was kind of retracted unless you read between the lines. I really can't recollect PP doing that.

Adie would have stayed had he had some support from those in charge. Ignore the he got a better offer bollocks..... that was just after a meeting with the club to see what the future held and after asking for a few things to help him and phil be a success.
Adie felt with just a bit of backing he could have pis sed this league. I agree with him.

Adie Pennock proved that it can be done on peanuts. When you are in the play offs after doing GREAT in the trophy and cup and your budget gets reduced!
When you ask for a bit of support and get nothing....... WOULD YOU STAY?
Good Luck Adie, He tried.
We need another STRONG manager, Neil just says the resources arent great lol. Bang on his door Neil say i want some money, i want the reserves , i want the training ground i want! and if he says no, then resign and give a press conference. the club are making you look a james hunt Neil!
Show some balls, Adie got the fans on his side and created a team on and off the pitch, all pulling in the same direction. It made a huge difference, off the pitch we were still crap but on it and on the terraces things were good.
When you came Neil , i said you would fail, the whole picture of your lack of experience and the way the club is off the pitch and what their aims are made you a million to succeed. And anyone like you will be ecactly the same.
My advice to you Neil, is get on the phone to Adie and get some advice. Or are you happy taking the £300 a week? Adie wasnt and Adie did better than you.

In my opinion Ade brought a real sense of professionalism to the club and he was respected by almost everybody for his no nonsense approach. His expectations of players were clear and you only have to look at the subsequent histories of defaulters Ronayne Benjamin and Kwasi to see how sound his judgements were. The regard in which he was held and the work of the management team he created was what brought players in and in all probability made some of them punch above their weight. With just a bit of support from the club we would in my opinion have been playing in the Premier this season, we would still have had Keds and Daisy, and we would have seen at least a couple of quality signings. All pipedreams though since realistically with the Hobbins at the helm we would not be able to survive in the Premier and they know it which is why in my opinion Ade didn't get the support.

JGFC - the 100k from the cup run, the debts, Adie's budget etc etc. is old news now.
do you think that every season we start off with a clean bank balance? we've probably had debts for years and that 100k - who knows what it paid off? You know how the club operates - we'll never know. Time to forgot about all that - and if that's what the club wants then i'm afraid there's nothing we can do about it.
I meant that as a point of reference as to what the club did when we could have got in the play offs, instead the money was swallowed up and we cut the budget when in the play offs with a few weeks to go.
Until such time as we have a cup run or splash out 10k on a striker, i will use it as a point of refernce as to how the club operates. Most people seem to have accepted that the money went on debts, which i personally find amazing given Welling always were known as a club that never went over budget or were over spending.
Of course that 100k has nothing to do with this season. The keds money does though and we havent replaced him or spent any of the 12k signing a replacement. Another valid point.
I made my point and i wont be mentioning it all the time, it just shows that money coming in just gets swallowed up and none is spent on the team signing players.

Adie wanted to stay end of story. But a chance call just after a meeting with the club and Adie jumped at it.
I agree with what you say about its not how much its what you do with it but that falls at the clubs door too as they seem to employ the wrong men. Name me a successful manager we have hired apart from Adie and Brigden.
We need to aim higher. And it doesnt matter who applies if the club refuse to employ someone whos been a success and would be a demanding manager but could prove a success.

"Our budget is about mid table in the league - it is not the highest and it certainly isn't the lowest"
I'd be interested to see how many sides have a lower budget and where they sit in the table.
"It is all a matter of getting the RIGHT players and moulding a TEAM You could have millions but still not have a team"
Generally I agree but unless you have an extensive knowledge of local football to get the right players or getting them tends to involve a fee in this day and age. We had half of Keds transfer fee but didn't reinvest any of it in the team.
"I think the point about Adie is a tad mis guided too Put yourself in the position Either manage a Conf South Club and carry on window cleaning OR go full time with a league side - for me that would be a no brainer"
Only Ade knows the answer to that but I don't feel it is misguided. Had he got the support I'm confident that he would have got us into the Premier when he would have commanded an comensurate salary and wouldn't have had to resort to his supplementary jobs. As it was he didn't and as far as I know there was no offer on the table for him to continue. This being known he got the offer from Stoke which he accepted despite his appointment being as their academy coach, which I suspect was a deviation from the path he had drawn up for himself and to which I am sure he will return in due course. The 'no brainer' element as far as I am concerned was sod all or perhaps unacceptable terms on offer from a Conference South side v a firm offer with the academy of a Championship side.
"On the salary side - I think you may be surprised what Neil is on - It is not the peanuts you think it is"
Spill the beans then Mark. If he is not on peanuts all the more reason why he should have gone a couple of months ago when he wasn't producing the goods.
"There will be plenty who would want to take on the job I am sure"
But what are their credentials?
