Opinion from the terraces (and the stands) seems to almost unanimous that Neil should go / be sacked. The problem is who could be brought in to turn our season around. Why not let others know who you think should be the next Manager and what you think they would bring to the Club.
I've included in the poll those already mentioned, a few eligible ex players since they have been mentioned generically and a couple of others (more can be added).

i vote Paul Gorman. hes doing well at erith, since nov 2006 hes only lost 5 league games .some people keep on asking for people with experience, but ade never had that,Andy Ford will destroy the club,Chris Kinnear is a scout at Wolves and will not leave.Andy Hass is doing well at Dover,Why would he leave a club at the top to go to a club thats struggling at the bottom. who are Jim Dean and Gary Lisney.Tony Dolby and Ruthers got the sack from a team struggling a league below,Paul Copley was sacked by Faversham in november and won only 1 league game..Gary Abbott as just got the Sittingbourne job..
Liam Daish has had a while to feel the impact, if there is any, of the myfootballclub ownership on his role. He could be in the market if he ain't happy.

Not sure he walked out. The length of time before he finally rejected the Hobbins offer suggests that he thought long and hard about the chances of success on the terms offered and maybe tried to get an improvement in the budget so that he felt he had a chance of building a decent side which is exactly what you have told Neil he should have done/do.
I would agree however that on the face of it he walked out of Eastleigh.

I went for Gorman on the basis that Daish is unlikely to drop down a league. He has done well down the road and if he does pack it up there I am sure he will back at work in the conference very quickly.
Whislt Ade did really well and we love him very much - I still feel Daish should have got the job at the time. I am sure that he does as well and won't feel any strong loyality to returning to PVR in our time of need.
I did an interview with Liam just after he left and he was scathing of the club. He said they never talked to him, not even about the games, almost ignored him and only interviewed him late when Liam felt that ade and phil were already lined up. He said they just said you live too far away. LOL! and here he is full time down the road.
Maybe if he isnt happy he would come back to prove a point. Ill give him a bell ;)

Looks as if an Andy Ford (manager) and Phil Handford (assistant manager/coach) partnership which many are tipping is the favoured partnership. (Daish and Gorman already have managerial roles and would probably want the manager role.)

If you read what barry said then they will have had experience at our level or higher. I pray to god its not a smokescreen and they are talking about playing experience but i doubt they would do that.
thankfully that rules out dobler and gorman and ex players.... I would like to see it advertised, they can get a piece in the racing post and the broadsheets by tomorrow its the only way imo, let people know you want the best manager ON OUR TERMS (Wage and budget) then appoint them.
For all we know they may get better than Ford/Handford so lets hope so.

Daish and Handford would be the dream team i think ( well unless we had a great budget and got Adie back) , I wonder if Daish is pissed off down the road as they keep stalling him on transfers and the myfootball thing hasnt gone through...
If we got Daish and Handford i would scrub the dugouts with a toothbrush too!

Think he was lined up pre Rambo but there might be some issues between him and the Hobbins ? Local with lots of experience at this level (and higher) and usually gets results.
Fair shout mate but hes been out the game at this level for a while and he didnt do a great deal at a lower level before moving to scout for Wolves.
if there is a doubt about Andy Ford its the same thing, hes been out the game at our level for a fair while and naturally he will have lost a lot of his contacts and "any edge" he had. He would still be a step in the right direction.

One name not mentioned so far is an old friend or some may say fiend......the man himself INQ Kevin Hales.
Not sure where he is now but last I remember he was a No.2 to Garry Hill. He has gained a lot of experience since he left us with Dagenham, Weymouth and Margate I think. In that time he must have spoken to a lot of people.
Steve Grit with Joe Francis as assistant to be 'groomed' for the top job in the future. Its the perfect combination of experience and youth, with knowledge of the league and non league seen. If Grit was the boss we would probably attract a few Charlton fans to see their old hero, and maybe get some decent Charlton youngsters on loan from time to time thanks to his contacts at the Valley.
Another name I've not seen mentioned is Dean Forest the VCD boss. He had to take over in difficult circumstances when Andy Ford left and has done a great job, guiding the Vicars to top spot in the Kent League. He would be a good assistant to Grit also.
Youth Academy manager at Charlton or manager at Welling United come on get real.
Unless there has been some significant change Hales is let down by his interpersonal skills when dealing with team. Was great with the youth but hopelessly out of his depth when it came to the first team.

If you can tempt him down south, then it has to be Phil Robinson who was the manager at Stafford Rangers until just before Christmas. Got them a couple of promotions after a rough coupleof years, excellent operating with a club that has ambition but has budgetary constraints (although not the ones he suffered this year). Excellent communicator, very well respected by the players (and other managers) and has contacts at Conference level. Bring a number 2 in that knows the local scene and you'd have a great ticket.
i heard good thing about robinson. i'd take someone who has got success at Conference level and is proven, but has some ambition. reading the nlp, it seems he didnt have much money this season but other managers always seemed to have a lot of respect for what he did
Of the names not already banded about, I'd love to see Steve Cook (Borehamwood) considered. The Wood have enjoyed long and fruitful cup runs over the last few years and have been thereabouts in the Ryman Premier over the past few seasons, albeit playing in front of disappointing crowds at Meadow Park.

You'll probably never quite know how much this hurts but....
Rangers actually seem to be interested in someone doing well when they do(probably they are operating at their max about now) and the people of this town do turn out if the team are doing well
neither of which I, hand on heart, could say with any conviction about ourselves.
You could do a whole sight worse. But I suspect he could do a whole sight better...
Strikes me though that the next bloke could do a Keegan circa 95 if its not as it says on the tin. Because if it isn't they might as well offer to resign to try and get what was promised. After all, after the last few years, who would you believe?
