According to the last two reports on the games at Bath and Eastleigh, Jamie Turner has returned to his poor early season form which resulted in us having to sign Clark Masters on loan from Brentford. If we are to escape from the relegation zone, we must have a keeper who does not concede "soft" goals. Andy Ford must sign a reliable keeper asap.
Too right John. After making it 1-1 on Saturday we were comfortable. We had fought back in the game and I thought we well deserved the equaliser. After that we looked comfortable until Jamie's mistake. You could see the whole side deflate - all their hard work undone by Turner. He made loads of errors at the game - flapped at another cross, nearly let a soft header in and most comical of all charging to the edge of the area - having to drop the ball as his momentum was taking him out of the box - lead to their guy having a shot from just outside the box dead centre with our keeper sitting on his back side near the touch line. We can not afford a keeper costing us so many points in the situation we are in.
Surely the defence could have helped if it was direct from a corner. They're not exactly playing like world beaters. Why on earth was Moore subbed if not injured?
No Jt was at fault im afraid. The lad whipped the ball in perfectly fo him to catch but he misjudged it, hitting the post then hitting him and going in.
Another bad decision made by Jamie Turner yesterday when he clattered into the Hampton player. Why does he seem to get a rush of blood to the head in these situations. No need for him to make that "challenge" as there were enough defenders around to cover the danger. I assume that he will now miss three games which might not be such a bad thing in view of his poor performances lately. Andy Ford, you must get a reliable goalkeeper in as soon as possible otherwise it will be Ryman League next season, for sure. I just hope that ill-advised challenge by Turner has not already condemned us to the Ryman League.
