As usual a reasonable report apart from the contradictory statement about Smith! Have to say I was right in line with the free kick for their second and thought the guy who went up for the flick in fact sold a superb dummy and it went straight in!

The report on the official site was far too positive though I have nothing but admiration for James's work for the Club.

I was in line with the flight of the ball and it definately looked like it took a deflection of the head of one of theirs.

Mind you, my eyes aren't what they used to be.

They used to be me ears mate (Goon Show circa. 1955).

Spitey,

I am the guy who writes these News Shopper reports and i meant to say that it was a bold decision to take Mucu off.
I wouldn't say wise because i felt he should have stayed on as well.

In the press box, we were directly behind the goal and we all agreed that it got a touch but it was a close one.

Good work on the reports mate another solid effort re Hampton which as a result left me gutted.

Thanks for the comment re Mucu you'd think the manager would be trying to harness him rather than leaving him out all the time especially as we've been carrying Stewart for two games (the odd assist notwithstanding!).

Am pro Ford but very unhappy with his treatment of the legend that is Chris Moore. Disgraceful treatment of a defender who rarely puts a foot wrong despite his advancing years.

You maybe right with the touch for the second goal against Newport slightly less embarrassing if that was the case but still a poor goal to concede.

Keep up the good work!

Totally agree with your comments on Chris Moore. Cannot understand what Ford is doing. Last week he took off our two best players in Chris Moore and Muku when it looked like we may get back in the game. Then on Saturday he leaves both players on the bench !! If he is looking for characters surely he needs Mooro at the back. Also, his replacement Sonny is just not up to standard for this level of football. He does try hard but that is a minimum.
I do not feel we are far away from getting results but he needs to start with Mooro and Muku. By doing this we would get rid of Stewart and Sonny and this would make us more solid. I felt Chippy had one of his best games on Saturday for some time and, if we give Omari another few games to get his fitness then all we are missing is Leon at right back and we will get the 3/4 wins that will secure our place in this league.
To summarise to Ford - pick the right players you have available and we will be safe. Continue to pick sub standard players and we will go down.
Simple !!

I was surprised that after leaving Moore on the bench that he didn't bring him on in the second half when Hampton started hitting high balls and were getting on top. We needed his strength in the air and organisational skills.

Seems like Ford wants to make an example of our more experienced players. Leon not in, Robbie on the bench and his treatment of Moore. Maybe there were injuries but as the club give no information - how would we know. The one he plays everytime and I can't understand why is Carpenter - gives the ball away so often its unbelievable. Rarely looks before passing.

Have you seen the average ages of some of the teams in this league? If he thinks we arent fit enough maybe he thinks he can get away with younger fitter players.

I think stortford have one player over 30 in their squad!
