Worrying stuff. I have heard that Fisher are very keen to maintain thier Southwark connections so moving to Bexley wouldn't fit with that. I think BKK is right - I have always been led to the belief that Welling is well run financially - to the detriment of ambition at times, so I can't see much truth in this.
That story sounds like a load of bull. I don't think Welling are going bust. As someone else has said one of the things that Welling does well is keep solvent. To be honest if any club is going to go bust I would put money on Fisher considering they have the worst crowds in the league and are paying rent to play at DHFC. I am not sure how they can survive.
If you were a League rival and thought Ford might attract some half decent players at this point to get us out of our fix, circulating that we might be financially stuffed might be a good way of dissuading them and improving you chances of staying up/poaching the players.
I don't doubt things are financially tight this year as we have probably spent more and earned less than budgeted for. I'd be very suspicious that the club credo on solvency has suddenly changed though to the extent that is being claimed (especially as the comparatively bumper season last year was claimed to have clear some debts, I believe).
Wait and see, but not with too much trepidation! (although I do vaguely recall Graham once saying he'd rather fold than go in the Ryman at one stage, but that was for political reasons when we notionally had a choice.)
Just read it again, so some tosspot is saying that Erith and Belvedere are saying welling are going bust and fisher have had a meeting with Bexley Council to take over at Welling?
And hes claimed they took him outside the boadroom so he could spread the story.
what a sileek hunt he is. I seriously doubt what hes saying and maybe Paul Green could approach Barrie and also Erith and put the rumoured points to them, to settle peoples concerns.

I agree Mark that him being delighted is a good sign, and of course we have NOTHING to suggest the club are finanacially close to going under just some tosser who seems to suggest that erith are spreading rumours we are going bust at the end of the season. Im sure Welling and or Erith would like to comment to put this to bed. We certainly dont need the players feeling uneasy which is perhaps the intent of the retard spreading what we hope is bull****.
