Picking up on Sidcup Graham's comment in the Welling v Eastbourne thread our 97/8 run in was tougher and we managed all 15 points from our last 5 matches, beating Halifax (FP Champions), Cheltenham (FP 2nd), Rushden (FP 4), Hayes (FP 12) and Leek (FP 19).
Not suggesting we will repeat this achievement but looking at the remaining fixtures on paper we probably have one of the most favourable outstanding fixture lists both in terms of the number of matches to be played in the last 29 days of the season and the teams we face. I would hope that we can get at least 9 points which would see us safe.

The previous game means fck all!! (notwithstanding the great wins) . The only game that matters is the next one. I dont think Fordy or Barney will let them ease off and if we play how we have been then we have a great chance.
Keep it up fellas.
Welling 6 Halifax 1 werent it and horse**** missed a penalty at the road end and all the Shaymen had the cricket side of the ground and there were plenty of them 300/400 at least?.

was 6-2 in the Halifax game JGFC, and my 83yr old grandad had to sneak into the Halifax fans and stand on the halfway line because he was blind in one eye and its the only way he could see both ends of the pitch. He wasnt too popular when Welling kept scoring and he was jumping up and down and waving his walking stick in the air !! He collected three Halifax scarves from the Halifax players when they were handed out at the end of the game - Ive still got one now !!
Some of their fans were absolute scum. They kicked the advertising hoardings down and caused damage outside the ground. The majority though were friendly and had nothing but praise for the way we beat them.

bit before my time but if sky suddenly stopped showing football(not going to happen) then more people would come to watch their local team and we'd have less man u "fans" who live in london and there would be increase of attendances at all games
I remember "Arfur". First Welling game I went to was in the Southern League against Dorchester & he spent most of the game yelling "Dirty Four" at one of their midfielders who'd committed a foul in the first cuple of minutes. Top bloke!
