Looking at the table it should be enough as i can't see the bottom three getting 3 wins out of 5 - but the last 3 seasons have seen the third from bottom club get 42, 43 and 46 points.
Sutton are already relegated. (It looks mathematically possible for them to survive but with Maidenhead having to play Weston its impossible).
Sutton can only get 35 max so if Maidenhead win they cant be caught, if Weston win or draw they cant be caught.
Dorchester have 5 games left. Away games at Hampton, Lewis and Bromley and home to Hayes and Braintree.
I cant see them getting 11 points out of that lot. 9 tops which would give them 37 points.
Maidenhead have 5 games left. Away games atWeston, Havant and Basingstoke and home to Bishops and St Albans. I really cant see them picking up more than 6 points which would put them on 40.
So by my reckoning, we only need a win or a couple of draws and were safe.
I don't think Maidenhead's run is too difficult. Apart from the fact that they are in dreadful form - I would have thought thay would be looking at Weston and Basingstoke as games they could win. Also if St Albans continue their run then they may be safe by the time Maidenhead play them - in which case they should fancy their chances. They should think they could get 9 points at least. I therfore will be much happier if we can pick up a couple of wins - which I think we will.
I certainly think we need more points but one more win should be enough (hopefully). Struggling against relegation certainly keeps interest going in the season. It's just like the "good" old days all over again.
Pity its not Gateshead at home for the final game of the season.
Looking at the previous years tables (can be found on conference south guide) 42 will be enough to keep us up think if we can get 4 points in the next two games that will be good enough.
