Good article by Matthew Panting in the Bexley Extra today.

I can't find it online yet but the main point is that Andy Ford wants a bigger budget (£20,000 more) and Barrie says they will find additional funds.

Andy says he's already tapped up some players.

That's a much better start than last season when Smith only started looking about 3 days before the season kicked off.

Yes, and that's £20K per season minimum he's asked Barrie for. Good luck mate. Just makes you wonder about the commercial side at the club for next year and beyond.

Apologies to those in the clubhouse I knocked out of the way to shake hands with Fordy and Barney. The full player award details last night for those who couldn't make it were:

Players' Player of the Year: Robbie Ryan.

Supporters' Play of the Year: 3 - Sam Gargan, 2 - Robbie Ryan, 1 - Chris Moore.

Goal of the Season: Richard Carpenter (v Eastleigh).

Champagne was then presented to the management team, when presumably being given the Freedom of Bexley Borough was more appropriate given the magnitude of their task.

Hopefully we can celebrate bigger and better things under Andy and Phil this time next season.

To Havant on Saturday, then.
