Just thought I would draw your attention to the WSU statement regarding the WSU meeting with Andy Ford last month.

Find it under the 'News' section on the link below:

I heard it is a substantial amount so well done WSU.

Has anyone from the WSU contacted Terry Grant of the WUISA? There was a nice few grand in the WUISA that could be added to that and would probably be 4-5k at least as was 3-4k when WUISA went dormant.

I would advise one of the top honcho's to at least contact TG and ask if the WUISA would like to donate the funds they have to Andy's Kitty.

I am sure that the club would make a statement on the Website and in the programme thanking the WUISA.

I havent spoke to TG for ages so will leave this in the hands of the WSU and hopefully one of them will take this up and post the result of thie enquiry to TG and WUISA.

Heres a Hint for the WSU, you want to make a fair bit of dosh

Arange a Golf Day for August / Sept , decent local course. charge £150 team of 4 (only £37.50 a player - nothing!) get some local sponsors to put up prizes (Nearest the Pin, the longest drive, Winner of singles/runner up and also team prizes) If you got some local celebs or ex players involved that would bring in more entries.

Simple Itinery

Bacon Rolls and a briefing early AM
Teams of 4 compete over 18 holes
Lunch and Drinks and Prize Giving

Contact the local DECENT COURSES in advance to get a good discount rate, get local businesses involved. Even have a raffle for sponsorship of say the training kit or an advertising hoarding in prominent place. Contact Dartford FC supporters club or Dovers as both have had good golf days.

If the funds can be raised then fans expectations rise, Pressure on the Manager rises. This brings new challenges for the club to do things right (Which they are trying to do).

With the budget Andy looks like getting, you would want to be seeing some class signings, Striker etc etc, Rather than released players.

Extremely interesting times all around. Bring it on. Andy has said he needs the budget to compete, that budget would bring in better players than those clubs on lower budget can bring in... Lets see if it works out that way. Me personally am looking for a couple of barnstorming signings by Andy to back up what he said about getting better players for more money.

I do absolutely believe that is what Andy will do , just nice to see one snapped up early to then encourage others that we mean business.

Would agree about the WUISA however, that rather depends on how the constitution was set up with respect to dispersal of funds, the rules on which I cannot remember.

It is possible a quorate number of people might have to join again and vote for use of the funds.

Certainly would not hurt to contact TG
