Went to see Palace Reserves play Chelsea reserves season before last. Teddy was there and was a top bloke. Stopped and signed autographs and had his picture taken with who ever wanted it. Had some young attractice woman with him who I assumed was his son's girlfriend - how wrong was I!!
Palace USA wanted him to go there for a year but he said no.
Saw him play at Palace, he is definitely a confidence footballer. He was quite unlucky at Palace as he was a little bit older than most of the kids and that team had Scannell, Moses, Bostock, Hills etc, etc so he was never really going to get a look in, but the fans liked him. I think he got ****ed around quite a bit at the clubs he was at before.
I was a little sceptical when he signed for City because of his lack of experience but need not have worried because he was an instant hit, scoring more than a goal a game in his brief spell at Milton Road. Like his Dad, he's a very intelligent striker and possesses all the attributes to go far in the game.
I was desperately hoping he would stay and help our fight to return at the first attempt but am not really surprised he has opted to stay at that level and with a club in the London area.
I wish him and Welling good luck for the coming season.
Great signing for Welling, believe that Charlie has a lot to offer to the English game and to be honest, am rather surprised that he wasn't snapped up by a league one club. I believe that this is the kind of striker that Welling need, that will help them score the goals and potentially gain you promotion next season. Very similar to his dad in the aspect of knowing where the goal is, not gifted with pace but a very intelligent striker and I look forward to some of the Charlton faithful, booing him in our pre-season friendly due to his time at Palarse but overall, he is a great signing for Welling and I believe that is a real coup for the club.
From the videos he looks similar to his dad but green and needs experience as you would expect, he looks to know where the goal is and where to position himself and looks a really good signing when you add in our two wide men.
Hes only young and looks to have a lot of potential while already having enough about him to score plenty for us.
Andy is doing very well siigning players of the calibre that we need. Obviously the club and the WSU have made some funds available in a real team effort and things are looking up.
Hopefully this will make other good players see what Andy and Jimmy are trying to do and we will get more players of that standard signing up.
PS we will beat charlton again in the friendly...

(What's this?)Charlie Sheringham has been given a chance to save his career in Denmark - after a little bit of help from dad Teddy.
Sheringham, 19, is to be offered a deal by Danish Second Division club Fremad Amager after an eight-day trial following his release by Crystal Palace.
The move was set up by ex-England striker Teddy, who has told the Copenhagen club that he may even come and play alongside his son next season if it all works out.
Teddy Sheringham began his career at Swedish Second Division club Djurgarden and had a word with Fremad Amager boss Jacob Friis-Hansen, who is an old friend.
Advertisement Friis-Hansen said: "To accomplish what his father did is difficult, because he had an impressive career, but Charlie can play at the highest level some day."

Agree Mark, another striker is needed. If we can play Ellis and Mucu as attacking wing backs with a play maker and a decent other midfielder we have a much better chance
God help us all if we go down that road. Not too sure we can play Ellis and Mucu on the flanks in midfield as it puts too much pressure on the two central midfield players - pressure that Chippy for one couldn't handle.
I think Mucu is best playing off the main striker as he did to good effect a few times last season but agree another striking option wouldn't go amiss.
i think we will get some goals out of mucu this season,as long has he stay injury free he's so talented great ability just need some one to believe in him and make him express himself comon andy get him up and ready for the new season
I agree we need another striker. We cannot rely on Sheringham Jr alone he needs someone to take the pressure off him at times especially as he finds his feet at a new club in a relatively new division
