Dear Supporters,

I just want to say how I have thoroughly enjoyed playing for your team over the years and how sad I am at leaving.

The support the team gets week in week out is amazing and what makes you as supporters stand out is not the support when the team is winning, but the support when the team has just lost an important match.  When we were striving for the play offs under Adie and lost at home, instead of silence we were clapped off and encouraged-no other set of supporters would do that. That is the reason that Welling deserve to over achieve.

The reason why I am no longer at the club is that the manager wants his centre backs to get the ball off the goalkeeper and pass it around.  As my first touch goes further than what most players can pass the ball, I do not think I would fit into that passing style pattern of play! I am sure that this new style of football will be interesting for you to watch next year.

I have had several offers already and I will pick the one that offers me the biggest challenge.

I would also like to personally thank Mr Hobbins for ringing me up when he heard the news and the kind words he said.   I have told him that if he ever requires a manager/coach/investor in the future to give me a bell. Hopefully I will see you soon.

MOOO-RO,

I'm really sorry to hear you're leaving. You've served the club with great distinction and we're all grateful for your hard work off the pitch with Chippy as caretaker managers last season as well as on it. I hope you get the offer you're looking for and deserve.

I've no doubt at all we'll see you back at PVR in some capacity in future.

Cheers

Sherpa

Many a centre-forward visiting PVR will miss your shouts of "Moore-o" ringing in his ears as you prepare to head the ball clear and clatter him in the process.

All the best wherever you end up, the old knees have another year in them Im sure.

What a cracking post from Mooro. No bitterness and also "i'll be back"

Good luck Mooro and hope to see you back in some capacity as you clearly hold the club and supporters in high regard.

All the very best Mooro.

Your passion and commitment to Welling has always been very evident to all the PVR faithful. You will missed and I'm sure your no nonsense defending and contribution to the Club will be remembered for years to come.

Excellent piece from Mooro who always had time for the supporters and always got the other players to acknowledge the travelling fans. Even in Non League football it is very rare to find anyone with such loyalty who respected the staff and supporters of the club.

I am sure he would do a good job for a lot of sides and if he returns to PVR in any capacity I am sure he would get a great reception from everyone connected with the club.

Thanks Mooro for your time with the club and your words

I always felt that there were few that had the club to heart during the real dark days of early last season BUT... you did

Come back when you haven't a game and stand with us behind the goal

Thanks Mooro for all your hard graft over the past 3 1/2 years. To play for this club that long- week in, week out makes you quite unique as the turnover of players at this club has been astrinomical (7 managers in 9 years has n't helped!).

You've been an inspiration to the supporters and i'm sure your fellow players.

Good luck in the future.

Mooro,

A true legend from in the back four and wouldn't have looked out of place in the wings team in the late 80's!

My great memories are the goal at hayes in the first season, Huddersfield in the FA Cup when all around had given up and also giving us the lead against Grays in the quarter final of the FA Trophy!

I hope you come in some capacity in the future

Matt the Hat

Thank you Mooro. You are a Wings legend and quite inspirational especially in the depths of last season.

One of my highlights of his time at Welling was the goal he scored against Weymouth at home when they turned up expecting to roll us over.

I hope Mooro keeps playing but not against us as he may well show Mr Ford that he made one hell of a mistake.

I too will miss the Mooreoooooo's shouts, im still adamant i could hear them whilst stood at the back of the away stand at Huddersfield that sunday! :)

Thanks for staying loyal to us and being such a great captain and rock at the heart of our defence over the past few seasons.

All the best Mooro, hope to see you down PVR in the future.

Can't really say anything which hasn't been said already, great leadership in all his years here - still don't understand why he wasn't captain last year.
And on the point that Ford doesn't believe in your passing ability, he obviously didn't see your assist to Ross Montague at St.Albans last year. wink
Good luck Mooro

Just like to add to what everyone else has said. Mooro's efforts last year both on the pitch and as caretaker with Chippy went a long way to keeping us up. They steadied the ship when it looked like we were sinking.

I'd love to have seen a centre back pairing of Mooro & Nige in the 80s - no-one would have got past them!

Hope to see him back soon

my fav Morro goal has to be the one scored against Weymouth at home a couple of years ago when we were still in the chase for the play-offs and the local rag that week had the headline "believe" with a picture of Morro after the goal having his shirt pulled apart by Perkins celebrating

Definetly be missed
