As a neutral at todays game, I thought that both teams knocked it about quite well. Dover in the 1st half looked very accomplished in the middle, but lacked a cutting edge up front and at the back, the big number 5 (Schultz??) looked extremely ponderous.
Welling looked solid throughout and their number 8 in the first half (Gray) was excellent. 2nd half tapered off a bit with the substitutions. A player from each team got booked at the end where the dover player appeared to pin the Welling player to the ground whilst throwing punches. The Dover player was fortunate to get only a yellow. The Welling lad was unfortunate to get his card.
I think Dover will finish in the top 7-8, but lack a striker and defensive wise looked a bit wobbly. Welling looked OK as well with two good strikers and the lad in the middle shining. Again, defence might be their undoing.
Could I ask who you support when you are not a neutral? Do you follow a team in Conference South or Ryman Premier? Olly must have just had a rough 45 minutes because in the rest of pre-season he's been awesome. Can't comment on the game as unfortunately I couldn't make it but I was just wondering who you are measuring us against to say we'll finish in the top seven or eight but no better.
As at last Monday Mucu still hadn't resumed training and Fordy has said he will not make the start of the season.
The Lovell that played for us a couple of years ago was Mark Lovell. I believe the Lovell who played yesterday was Matt Lovell ex Tonbridge Angels, who was dismissed for disciplinary reasons at the start of last season, was signed up again during the season and has again been dismissed for "an internal matter that weve dealt with and it will stay internalin the words of manager Tommy Warrilow.

Also the reason that Lovell was released again by TAFC was for disrupting the team by talking about stuff and saying things he shouldnt have done, ALLEDGEDLY.

Mucu was wearing the 15 shirt during warm up and I thought he would play. He sat in the stands during the first half just behind Sam Gargan who was there with a lady friend. I expect he was there to see his old mate Sonny. Or was he?????
Quote from Fordy after the Maidstone game taken from News Shopper ""Orlando is a different story. He is just doing the warm-ups at the moment and hasn't trained at all, so he won't make the first game."

I believe ryan martin may well be ex margate-was with the 'Gate second half of last season .(previously Tonbridge ) Has been on trial at cheltenham during summer but did not make the cut.
Tricky nippy right winger type of player, and scores a few aswell-pops up in centre of box at the right moments.likes his step overs and tricks.
Was that him-what did you think of him.
Would happily have him back at margate, probably is ok at conf south level, but not sure beyond that.
Live down here in Gloucester and as Forest green away and Margate not playing-i plan to watch you guys at Bath on saturday.
(having seen him at FGR-not sure if Mcentaggart is good enough )
Dcent signing-better than most of those right mdfield/winger types who flatter to deceive and usually beat a man, then either fall over or can't cross the ball.
ha s a knack of being in the right place around the 18 yard box to chip in regularly with some useful goals.
(would have been a particularly interesting signing if trott was still with you-did Andy Ford have a rush of blood to the head the day he signed him-soon realised his mistake though ? )
