Anonymous, According to the Kent League they are called Welling United Reserves.
From a purely Welling United perspective its not the "pretty good progress" you refer to if players have left after their first year with Welling at Under 18 to join Fisher (whose 1st team are coached by Jim and Gary who again using your words "are very much involved" in the Welling United with Kingsmoor setup.)
Since you know the whereabouts of 2 of last years KYL U18 side do you know what has happened to the others? Are those who were 1st year U18's in either of this year's two KYL U18 sides or the Welling United Reserve side? If not do you know where they have gone?
If they are still with WUY with Kingsmoor or the reserves perhaps we rather than other clubs will benefit and the progress you refer to will have been made.

In my opinion Louis is a promising young player and given another year with some exposure to the more physical game will I'm sure do well. Just a shame he has chosen to do that with Fisher rather than Welling.

Sorry about that but it pi$$ses me off when so called club officials act in the interests of another club then spread gossip about the club selling out to corinthians.
If you want to tell our youth players to join YOUR club or slag off the club just pi$$ off.
Paul Green or Matt Panting i wonder if you would at least ask the club if a sell out is possible in the near future.

Doesn't seem to be any bad blood at management level from either Fisher or Welling - both clubs seem content with the situation and you will always get movement between clubs at this level. It has worked Welling's way this year too.
Anon, Are you telling us that Fisher players have transferred to either of the 2 WUY U18 KYL teams or the reserves? If so please enlighten us.
For certain they have not joined the first team squad. As far as I know the former Fisher players we have in the first team squad are: Sol Pinnock after being signed from Dulwich Hamlet Sol was sub for one game in August 2007 Joe Healy played for Fisher in 2006/7 but last year played for Beckenham Town Ryan Martin played for Fisher in 2006/7 but was released when Wayne Burnett took over and last season played for Tonbridge Angels and Margate. Tony Sinclair played for Fisher in 2006/7 and came to Welling as an unattached player in Aug 2007.
Of course there will always be transfers between Clubs and the comments made are not directed at the players.
The point being made is that I doubt that there is another Club with a youth setup where the Coaches from another semi pro/pro Club are as heavily involved as Gary and Jim are at Welling United Youth with Kingsmoor whose stated desire is to produce players for Welling United. How so many cannot see the conflict of interest defeats me.

The plain fact is since Lisney and Dean have been at Welling we have lost all of our talented youth players and now they are joing the club they coach at at first team level!!
How many Youth Teamers have stayed at the club since making a first team appearance please, and i adddress that to the fisher two.

Before the current youth set up was brought in by Gary, Jim and the other dedicated committee members you DIDNT have any youth players!
What a fool!!!
Its a fact, as Bruno points out....players will decide where they play and what is best for them, not coaches or clubs.
Some ex Fisher players at Welling, some ex Welling players at Fisher.....etc, etc
Been like this for years, and always will be the case.
Perhaps the most important question to ask is why our youth players felt it was best to move on?....
Whoa there anonymous - factual innacuracy and adding to my carefully chosen words is not on.
Welling United DID have a youth team representing the Club in an examplary fashion in the Kent Youth League for 2 years before the establishment of Welling United Youth with Kingsmoor into which they were absorbed. I'll say no more about that side whose history is well documented on this forum and is now water under the bridge. JgFc a fool because he (and many others) knew this? I think not.
I did say there will always be transfers between clubs and that the comments made were not directed at the players but I deliberately didn't and still am not making any comment about coaches and clubs beyond once again highlighting the conflict of interest which exists.
I also very deliberately distinguished the youth and reserve sides from the first team squad in my post.
If you are the same anonymous to whom I responded earlier its interesting that you have not responded to the questions I raised. However your comment about the relevant question to ask sounds very much as if it might be the part of what I have been trying to find out so why not enlighten us and have the courage of your convictions and identify yourself.

Interesting use of the words you and our in the last post........
I very much agree Stafford.
My views on Welling United Youth, for which many believe I should be tried for heresy, are well known and are substantially documented in posts over the last couple of years.
Since my very public disagreement with Gary Lisney which resulted in a statement that they would not post on the forum again we have had several anonymous posts saying how much people are putting into WUY with Kingsmoor. Having been Chairman of a comparable sized youth football club I fully recognise this and I'm not in any way decrying the the time and effort some people are putting in, quite the opposite in fact as I have gone on record as saying on several occasions. What I question is whether they are any more than a franchise providing football in the Community which again I'm not knocking.
Answers to simple questions like: 'What is the extent of the input and control exercised by Welling United?' and 'Now that we have a reserve side what is Welling United Youth with Kingsmoor's relationship with it?' would give an indication as to whether they are Welling United's youth setup as they believe or a community scheme which is my opinion (and which the use of you and our would seem to reinforce.)

If you arent going to bring players through from u16-u18 for the benefit of Welling United FC , or arent capable of producing 1 first teamer in the years youve been doing this. And furthermore are happy to poach players for Fisher with your other hat on.
THEN TAKE YOUR UEFA Z BADGE OR WHATEVER IT IS STICK IT UP YOUR JACKSY AND LET SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO DEVELOP PLAYERS FOR WELLING UNITED FC (THE MIGHTY WINGS) TAKE OVER.
Kind Regards
Tool
