hope they email all their mailing list and get a page on the site with the full schedule for the day.
Any players playing? or personalities?
Team event? Prizes? Handicap rules? or just a smack about with a few prizes for longest drive and nearest the pin?
Well done for organising it should be a nice little earner. I wonder if one of the sponsors will put up a prize for a hole in one? at the longest par 3.
New bedroom suite from the bedpost? £1000 free bet from coomes?? years car lease from a local dealer? Dartford i think did one and got a car as the prize .
It wont be won but nice if it was there and would bring in more entries.
James try doing a PDF on the main site ;)

The Golf Day is an event that the WSU hopes to arrange annually in future (probably ound July/August). But, clearly, this is a something different that the WSU hasn't done before but which, like the Danson Festival for example, we hope to improve upon year-on-year.
Prizes (in the form of trophies) are available, and there are nearest the pin and longest drive competitions and a raffle. Entry fee also includes welcoming tea/coffee and bacon roll.
Keith Mills told me on Saturday that he'll be there from about 9am onwards on the day, and he has asked one player in particular to put the word around to other team members, management and others.
I would attend myself if my golfing skills didn't limit me to the windmill hole at the Margate Beachside crazy course (and that's one tough links). But I would encourage supporters, golfing enthusitasts, corporate guests and anybody else interested and available on the day to please support this event. For example, every 10 players who sign up over a minimum of 20 will make a significant difference for the WSU to go towards the enhanced quality squad we're starting to see the benefit from and other, smaller but no less important off-the-field improvements.
All bookings have been made to Keith. We've just extended a general invitation to everyone for this, our first golf day. I hope the corporate market will take this opportunity as much as anyone else (although, granted, we probably want to push this area more in organising future golf days). The next WSU meeting is on Thursday at 7:30 (to which all, as usual, are welcome), where I'm sure Keith will provide us with numbers as well as who from the club has signed up to take part.
I'm certainly looking at giving more news through the usual channels about what numbers we have and which high-profile/Wings-related participants we have confirmed if it attracts others to book.
How much do you think is reasonable as regards a sponsored caddie?
Sherpa if they are afforded the same hospitality as the players you would like at least £30 or so but if there were players or "names" turning up you may get some people bidding more.
I cant see a player or "name" turning it down and it raises more money for the club and gets more people involved.

I wonder would Edward be playing with Charles? If so i would imagine a local business who supports West Ham, Spurs or Millwall would caddy for him and get their pictures taken etc.
You will probably get a few late sign ups. So let us know the numbers turning up, spaces remaining etc etc a few days before the event.

Sadly, the WSU has been forced to postpone the Golf Day planned for this Monday (29th September) at Birchwood. We apologise to those of you who had signed up to play and we realise you will be disappointed as we've had to cancel this event at fairly short notice. But this is due to circumstances beyond the control of anyone at Welling and the WSU, and we do hope to re-arrange this event and bounce back bigger and better either later this year before the clocks go back or early next year.
WSU events continue tonight with the Meet the Manager this very evening in the Wings Bar at 7:30. (£4 entry; £6 entry includes food), and we hope to see as many of you as possible there!
