On Holiday again? Now last year when he went missing people swallowed it . But this year hes gone on holiday again in the season? Is he on a special pay as you turn up deal?

Did he not try to cancel it to sort the team out? Has he not missed other games this year?

How did we perform the last time Jimmy was in charge?

Has Andy got any more holidays or illnesses booked for this season.

I still think he will turn it around but if hes not committed enough to turn up to the fcking games, how on earth will the players be bothered.

MY SOURCES REVEAL THAT FORD'S TIME OFF WAS ADVISED TO THE CLUB BEFORE HE TOOK THE JOB. WE'D HAVE STILL LOST IF HE WAS THERE ANYWAY, THE MANAGER CANT MAKE A STRIKER SCORE WHEN HE IS THROUGH ONE ON ONE WITH THE KEEPER CAN HE?

I'll concede it is difficult to find a time in the year to have a holiday when there is not a conflict with what you need to do as a manager at this level.
However, unless the reason for the holiday was an immovable occasion like attending a wedding or something, when you have asked the club to improve its fund raising, you are leaving yourself wide open if you are potentially not about for one of the bigger money raising fixtures of the year. Either that or MAKE SURE YOU WIN FIRST TIME OUT!

I think that the difference in the disappointment level this year compared with others at an unexpected exit is that people have tried to raise the game off the pitch and feel that that effort has not been matched and could now be largely negated by poor effort on it. We've had blow outs like this in the past (Wembley, Clevedon anyone?) and got over it and last seasons evidence suggests that Ford is capable of getting it right but this goes down as a major financial and PR gaffe in my view

I will state again, Andy was the man for the job and is the man for the job.

BUT , hes made a goof again by holidaying in the season especially when things have gone a bit tits up.

Can you imagine in the changing room

AF: I want more from you all , more committment, theres people paying your wages and and youve proved you are good enough, you just arent doing it at the moment. See you in 10 days lads i'm off on holiday.

He wasn't there last night - wasn't at Hayes if memory serves me right and I think may have missed one othe manager.

Our recent form

Played 7 won 0 drawn 3 lost 4

I would be embarrassed to go on holiday as things move towards a crisis. Don't break this run soon and we will be drawn into a relegation fight.

Seem to remember people saying that about Neil Smith this time last year.

Allowed on go on holiday during the season? Not so sure myself. Shouldn't be available during the season be part of the contract? If this holiday was already booked then we can give him this one - but I hope no more. Is he back for tomorrow?

The timing of Fordy's holiday ultimately proved to be unfortunate to say the least due to the teams failure to get a result on Saturday but when is the guy to take a holiday?

Out of season when he is trying to assemble a squad and have some asking why he is not out there signing players
or
During the season when it would appear that some supporters believe he should be at every match despite having an assistant manager who can take over the reins.

I know when I would rather he had a break and for sure it isn't when he needs to be here building a squad.

I hope that holidays are planned in the future. Should in close season and not at the same time as your assisitant.

These people put themselves forward to manage clubs - they get paid for it - with that there should be commitment as well. If they want to have lots of holidays through the year - then fine but don't become a football club manager.

Everyone is entitled to a holiday, whatever job they do.

The club has cover for Andy in the form of Jimmy who is more than capable of taking over the reigns.

To be honest we could have had Sir Alex in charge for the two cup games and the team would still have under achieved.

On reflection my previous looks somewhat ambiguous so for purpose of clarity it was more important that Fordy was around in the closed season when a squad had to be built than during the season when he has an assitant manager to take the reins.

Andy Ford was not paid throughout the summer months whilst getting the team together and holding trials, if you think about the number of hours he put in to the club then him missing a game through holiday does not really seem that bad

Here here!

This thread got far too personal for my liking.

I think people just like to use every excuse possible to rant and rave before realising how stupid their post actually is. The title say "Does andy ford give a toss" ofcourse he does, he has said many times before that he wouldn't be here if he wasn't going to give his all!

This thread should be confined to a dustbin, it boarders on plain personal insults that has very little to do with football and more about where he spends his time.

There are times when you can't avoid taking time out and we're not talking about Premier League managers on squiilions of pounds a week here.

I think everyone is entitled to have a break and hope Andy is fully refreshed and raring to go.

Anonymous at 07:52 Oct 4, 2008, I do not agree that the thread is far too personal and is more about where Fordy spends his time.  Basically it revolves around when, in their opinion, supporters  think it is appropriate for the manager to take holidays and was no doubt generated by frustration at the manager not being there when the side were dumped out of the FA Cup by a lower league team in their first tie.

It is foolish to expect that without heavy handed censorship (which would negate the point of having a forum) all the posts will say in our opinion we are happy with the manager not being around for what was a crucial FA Cup tie which will no doubt have a telling affect on the clubs finances.

What has emerged is that aside from minority of posters (which included 2 anonymous anti Ford posts) the supporters are still very much behind Fordy even if in the opinion of some he should have been at the replay come hell or high water.
